I'm updating a few 3e PrCs to 3.5e, such as The Duelist from Dragon Magazine #274. So far, I've dropped two feats and two skills that don't exist and turned the Weapon Proficiency feat requirement into a special requirement for its weapon proficiencies. I'm personally wondering if this unbalances it at all. Tips would be helpful and appreciated.

You mean the duelist (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/prestigeClasses/duelist.htm)?

Yes, but this isn't the only case. Tips still required.

I re-did some of old 3.0 PrCs like the red avenger and fist of hextor here (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?311379-Insert-fixed-PrC-here!)

Just submit a request and I will get to work on updating it :)

Normally I would convert prerequisites (Alchemy -> Craft(Alchemy), Innuendo -> Bluff, ...). If I do not know a conversion then I would drop or replace the prerequisite.

Balance-wise, there is usually no to negligible imbalance added by dropping prerequisites from prestige classes unless the class is designed for a full caster.
