fire domain wizard level4 spell selection

fire domain spells are:

0—flare; 1st—burning hands; 2nd—scorching ray; 3rd—fireball; 4th—wall of fire; 5th—cone of fire (as cone of cold, but deals fire
damage instead of cold damage); 6th—summon monster VI (fire creatures only); 7th—delayed blast fireball; 8th—incendiary cloud; 9th—meteor swarm.

dm lets me to select another fire based spell for level 4 instead of wall of fire (all sources are available).

im considering fire orb (http://dndtools.eu/spells/tome-and-blood-a-guidebook-to-wizards-and-sorcerers--51/fire-orb--3395/) or channeled pyroburst (http://dndtools.eu/spells/players-handbook-ii--80/channeled-pyroburst--2967/) since i will have +1 compotence bonus.

is there any fire spell you will advice?

Orb of Fire from Complete Arcane. It bypasses Spell Resistance and allows no save.

Orb of Fire from Complete Arcane. It bypasses Spell Resistance and allows no save.

It does have a save vs. a secondary effect, which gets problematic when dealing with Mettle. It is still the solid choice for a Level 4 Fire spell.
