Here people who play WoW can post their characters, realm, class, whatever so we can make a database of all the WoW-players on this site, and maybe hook up with our newfound server-buddies. Send me PMs if this info changes. Also, talk about WoW!

Format: "YOUR USERNAME - Realm Name: Toon #1 (Level race class), Toon #2 (Level race class), etc."

For guilds (guilds you participate in or run, mark guilds you run with an asterisk next to your name): "YOUR USERNAME - Guild Name: Realm Name"

I'll start...

The format makes little sense to me, why list our usernames when they are clearly visible mere inches from the text? Are you just copy/pasting what we write?

True, we get more 12 year olds rolling NE females just to run around naked.

But, these are my adventures in The Horde:

-Day 1: Rolled an UD mage, got to level 5ish, started asking around for a guild. I didnt even see someone else or see someone else speak in chat the entire day.
-Day 2: I could only stomach myself to level 8. I had moved to the Barrens (baaad idea) to see if anyone else actually PLAYED this game. It was only level 60's (before BC came out) dueling and AHing their stuff. EVERYONE of a lower level I saw had glowing weapons, the majority of them being rogues. Same results for looking for a guild.
-Day 3: Wandered Orgrimmar for a bit, then deleted character.

-Day 1: Rolled an Orc Warrior. Got to level 6-7, had a conversation with someone in the chat, never actually saw anyone in person. Logged because I had to go somewhere. Never returned to this character. Deleted a week later.

-Day 1: Rolled a BE hunter. Got to level 2 before the chat drove me mad.

-Day 1: Rolled another BE, this time a mage, sometime after BC's launch day. Got to around level 8ish, again, had no luck finding a guild. Had some people to chat with though, made it a bit more endurable.
-Day 2: Deleted character due to boredom.

And many more with similar results. In my experience, the Horde only care about PvP, and are silent as the grave, with not many people. As in, there were so few I felt like I was playing a CRPG, not an MMORPG. (cue "tahts not true!1!!1" posts. I'm just saying this is what happened in my experience, which is enough to influence my opinion.)

Include me if you want, you'll have to do more than copy/paste, though.

I played up to a 42 tauren shaman before I stopped. I was on Emerald Dream. It's an RP-PVP server. Everyone's friendly and talkative, and I happened to have a friend who was an officer in a very good guild. All the ally characters I tried...well, I found rampant *******s. And I was playing long before BC, so I have to say...pallies? What a POS class.

Jeeeez, lots of realms thar.

@^ I think it depends on the realm. Most of the horde on my server are like "zomg we is teh wf noob pwnrs we rox!!1!1!!".
They found enjoyment in killing my 16 gnome mage 10 times in Moonbrook. I got pissed off and went on their side (my rogue) and yelled at 'em. THey say (almost exact quote) "dude its a free country we can pwn you if you want / lol noob". Logged back on my main and flew to westfall. Apparently enhancement shamans without mounts really suck against marksman hunters 20 levels higher than them. I went back on my rogue and told them to not mess with lowbies anymore, and I got promptly ignored. That's my side of the story.

So were my alliance.

They're very similar. Alliance just tends to have a lot more young, inexperienced, and quite frankly, stupid players, due to the "good" connotations, the "easymode" class, and the "pretty" races.

I_GOT_THIS_NAME - Moon Guard: Aeliane (Blood Elf Paladin 23), Aeldoth (Blood Elf Mage 15)

Anyway, back on tangent:
The funny thing about the Alliance having the "good guys" connotations is that they're actually the villains. The Founding of Durotar campaign in Frozen Throne shows that the current war started, basically, with a bunch of vicious bullies from the Alliance came in to where the Orcs were trying to get a civilization started (after agreeing with the humans to go their separate ways), and attacked the orcs, ambushed their diplomatic envoys, etc. Also, Curse of the Blood Elves shows the Alliance as supporting genocide.

Not saying that the Blood Elves and Forsaken aren't actually evil, too, what with the Forsaken trying to turn everyone else undead, and the Blood Elves doing whatever they feel is necessary for the next bit of mana. Of course, the Naaru are equally evil. They continued to support Paladins serving under Garithos when he ordered them to commit genocide without so much as a word of protest, making them complicit. Still, "just because you're hungry and they're nazis" doesn't make killing and eating people right.

In fact, the entire Eastern Kingdoms continent is filled with evil maniacs, the Night Elves can't be trusted, and the Draenei are complicit in genocide (see Spoiler #2; however, they're also victims of one, so they really have a choice between siding with a pack of genocidal maniacs and dying, so they might be forgivable). Of course, the Night Elves have more of a problem with bad leadership than anything else.

Now, this is just speculation, but I'm pretty certain that the Archdruid is working with the legion, deliberately did away with Furion, and created the new tree to get it corrupted.

Also, the old Draenei were much cooler; now they've mashed the Eredar onto them, and pulled the Naaru out of thin air for them; they were much cooler when they were just the Draenei (see Akama and company in Curse of the Blood Elves).

Yes. Part of BC was to equalize the apparent difference between Alliance and Horde players (not that most Horde players I know wanted that) by giving Horde the "pretty" Blood Elves and the "easymode" Paladins. Still doesn't make the game any less broken.

Ugh. I hate WoW and here I am discussing it. On the bright side, I know a WoW freak who has five simultaneous girlfriends who all know about each other, three of which are all over him. So apparently, liking WoW doesn't take you out of the running like everyone says it does... ;)

Still don't like the game, though.

Ezy Mode has been avalilbe to both sides since day one - Hunter (and to lesser extent Lock)

Cobra_Ikari
2007-02-23, 10:42 AM
I wouldn't call hunter or lock easy mode as much as a pally. Yes, in solo, they become a DPS class with the ability to add a tank. But find me a hunter or lock who can outheal a priest, wear plate, and bubble.

And since pallys don't depend on a separate target tank, they keep the damage resistance in PVP. Neither lock nor hunter can claim that.

Actually, I dont think a paladin can outheal a priest. Maybe equal him, but not outheal. I'm retribution spec'd, so I prefer to tank rather than be the healbot, but I do admit I can do either job almost equally well.

And I'm sorry if this isnt what you meant, Ikari, but the way I'm taking your arguement is that you're dissing everyone who plays a paladin because they're a "godmode", "easy", or "overpowered" class, and therefor a noob.

With my 60 priest I did BG a few times. It was quite fun, and 1v1 I could take down most anything (shadow ftw). Then, I didn't have time for much and didn't go up in equip. He quickly got outpaced. Recently, I was playing as my 41 mage. He was killing mobs, and a 34 pally came. I thought, easy kill after he attacked me. Then, he -SEVEN LEVELS- below me, proceded to kick my @$$ doing upwards of 200 a hit. I had 800 hp or so, and ran off. I managed to get away with blink, and then drank and ate and was ready to fight. He ran away like a sissy. Yes, Alliance is filled with *******s, and horde may not. I greatly like the Alliance lands more.

I'm not trying to dis everyone who plays them. Will you admit that they are (at least a bit) overpowered?

The paladins I hate are the ones who go around complaining how difficult of a class paladin is and how everyone else needs nerfs and paladins need buffs. And at Blizzard for the constant pally buffs. That's all.

The Orange Zergling

A bit, yeah, seeing as I can (slowly) solo a group quest that's yellow to me, but that's another thing.

I dont get why people would really think it's a hard class to play. Devotion Aura, Blessing of Strength, Seal of the Crusader, Judgement, Seal of Command, Hammer of Justice, Judgement, Seal of Command, Judgement, Seal of Command, etc. If you go in over your head, Divine Shield and run or heal yourself. Long but simple formula.

And if you're not Retribution spec'd, replace Seal of Command with Seal of Righteousness or whatever it is.

*reads your post, then laughs his ass off*...umm, paladin? Are you serious? You haven't noticed that a well-made pally can out-heal a priest, out-DPS a warlock, and be a not-half-bad tank?

Posibly out heal in a 1-1 basis but the priest will never be beaten for the variety of heals that they can cover aswell as the other benifits a priest brings along (Fort, Spirit, Bubble, Shadow protect etc)

I am surprised that nobody here has made Roy Greenhilt(Human Warrior), V(Elf Mage), Haley(Human Rogue), Durkon(Dwarf Preist), Elan(Possibly Human Rogue or Human Wizard), Nale(Human Warrior), Thog(Orc Warrior), Sabine(OK, this one is hard. Mabye a Human Warlock?), Xykon(Undead Warlock), or Miko(Human Paladin). The only bad thing about this "Order of the World of Warcraft" idea is that Thog wouldn't be able to talk to Nale or Not-Nale.

I think Durkon would have to be a Paladin so he could wear some plate.

I really don't think a paladin can ever OUT heal a priest, or a druid for that matter. Paladins are good all around classes and can tank and heal well, and provide alright dps. They are not better at healing than a priest though which is how I take "out heal." I run with some very good paladins that have great gear and have been playing that class since day 1 of the game and I would take them as the main healer in a 5 man any day, but I would never say they healed better than a good priest or druid. The one thing a paladin does better than anyone is survive.

For bandwidth usage, my friend and I assumed 7.2 megabytes of usage.

When I'm playing, I have mods that show me my performance as well, so I can watch how much I am using. It is pretty small.

The reasons for slow downs usually isn't the individuals connections, but rather, the amount of people connecting and other stops in the tubes.
