Elven Generalist + Item familar question

If you have this combo do the skills you invested into the item (and get back), along with the spells, and what not... do they get doubled too? Or only what you get in return?

Kinda just asking if the investment is considered to still be your stats or the items in other words

An Item Familiar is not the same thing as a Familiar, and cannot benefit from effects that only apply to a Familiar.

If your group makes a house rule on this, then keep the following in mind from the Natural Link class feature:
"The bonus on skill checks, saves, or hit points granted by the familiar doubles."

Only one of those bonuses gets doubled, so pick skill checks and be happy for what you get.

It counts as a familar it just can not deliver touch spells (unless you alter it to)
