...Miko's cell will be next to that of the LG? Just a thought, cuz if Miko and Sabine started talking, wouldn't Miko go blackgaurd and escape with her new comrades? And that would be a problem, right?

If it is, then we have a whole new mini-plot, with Belkar (possibly) as a witness!

:belkar: Yeah, I saw EVERYTHING... EVERYTHING...

(Tell me if that sounded WRONG!)

I'm more concerned about what will happen to Belkar's illusionary prison self.
No more "insult concerning Miko's demoted status" and "derisive comment about ex-paladins" anymore. =(

Hey. Nice idea. Never thought of that.

That just might work.

Naw, the LG is high up with a good view of the battle. I'd imagine they threw Miko down in solitary, probably underground, in a cell similar to Belkar's.

If they're smart, they strip her of any and all equipment, and put her in a prison uniform, like they didn't when they locked up the OotS

Hinjo did all but explicitly say that Miko's going into solitary, and we know that the Linear Guild is going into the anti-magic cells that the OotS were in previously.

But, due to budget concerns (and the fact that characters in any sort of seralized story with a visual component never change clothes. Ever), it looks exactly like her regular outfit. :smalltongue:

That's like the hundreth thread about this kind of speculation...

Still, I hope Miko will wake up next to Belkar. I'm imagining some hot shackles-and-gag action
Sorry for that, I'm a bit twisted when it comes to Miko and Belkar. *spanks himself*

Oh, they change clothes. The clothes just tend to keep with the theme. Thus, Miko's prison uniform will be beige-and-whites.

Yes, that's how their cells were described in 404 (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0404.html). But take a look at 260 (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0260.html), the first comic where the OOTS members were in their anti-magic cells, and where the speech bubbles in the first panel appear to be coming from. And then take a look at 411 (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0411.html) and 412 (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0412.html). Clearly at least the Linear Guild and Belkar are both going to "the prison tower", and it appears to be the case that Belkar and Miko are headed to the same place (I doubt that Roy and Hinjo would both trust him to go to his cell entirely unescorted). Though it's not entirely unambiguous about whether there's only one prison tower or multiple ones, it seems like too much of a coincidence for the latter idea. Also, Roy's line in 411, though not entirely unambiguous, implies that there's only one prison tower, whereas in 412 Elan's added descriptor of "we just threw him in" sounds natural whether or not he's referring to a single "the prison tower" or clarifying which "the prison tower" he meant (and it would make sense for Rich to throw in that descriptor if he wanted to establish the connection/foreshadowing in the reader's mind).

Overanalysis aside, what I'm really curious about is:

Assuming they're imprisoned in the same place, how will Sabine react to Miko's appearance? Most posts I've read have been focused on what Miko will do (i.e. will she become a blackguard, will she atone, will she join the Linear Guild, will she fall madly in love with Roy and if so will she actually kill him when he informs her that they're out of milk? ...Incidentally, I just had an idea for a new "Got milk?" ad.). But if they're in the same place I'm guessing that it will come out somehow - either through Miko's continued monologuing or Belkar, for instance - that she's fallen. So how will Sabine react to this?

Because if Miko does become a blackguard in the near future, I can see the transition occurring much more readily if Sabine plays an active role in "luring" her to the idea - whether or not Rich strictly follows the rules about how active a role Miko plays in her own "conversion". If he doesn't, then although he then has less reason to include the "peaceful contact with an evil outsider" bit, the stage seems set for her to meet Sabine already, so it looks probable merely on the basis of being the simplest explanation.* If he does, I see her as still being too devoted to the gods and their role in her idea of good unless someone either suggests to her that gods =/= good (an idea to which she might be more vulnerable at the moment) or that she can achieve a greater good through evil (by essentially regaining powers analogous to her old ones so that she can use them against various "evils" such as the OOTS). Of the people there she would be willing to listen to, only Sabine has any real motive to put much effort into to luring her into evil.

*What I mean is that involving an evil outsider both helps in establishing a narrative basis for blackguard powers, rather than just having them pop up out of nowhere, and also is something that many fans of the comic will recognize and associate with blackguardhood, as all of this kind of speculation demonstrates. And in a world which doesn't follow D&D literally, rule-by-rule, it makes perfect narrative sense for evil outsiders to bolster others who are committing evil even if they're doing so unwittingly.
