Hey guys. Simple question, what does bloodied mean? Go nuts.

A character is at or below half their total HP. A number of races/powers/feats change when targeting bloodied creatures. If you heal and are no longer at or below half health, you are no longer bloodied.

Bloodied is a condition that characters and monsters alike gain when they hit half of their total hit points. If a character has 24 hit points, their bloodied value is 12, and they become bloodied. Certain abilities only work, or stop working, when bloodied. In addition, certain things become more powerful once they've been bloodied - usually monsters moreso than player characters.

Being bloodied is a simple way of saying that something is at at least half of it's health. Certain creatures interact with the Bloodied condition.

EDIT: I, the Jade Phoenix Mage, just got Jade Phoenix Mage'd.

There's no generic consequence to being bloodied. It doesn't give attack penalties or anything. But you might have a specific power/ability that lets you do something when you are bloodied, or gives you a bonus to attack/damage against bloodied enemies, or something.

The useful thing about it is that the DM is supposed to tell you when monsters are bloodied (otherwise you wouldn't know to apply any relevant abilities), and that gives you a clue as to their HP total. Helpful if you want to focus fire.

Some monsters gain a bonus to hit or damage against bloodied opponents, or gain special abilities when bloodied.

Some PCs gain a bonus against bloodied opponents (tieflings gain a bonus to hit bloodied opponents). Some PCs may gain a bonus when bloodied (dragonborn gain an attack bonus when bloodied, for instance).

But by itself, bloodied doesn't mean anything.

Some items also help with being bloodied. The Battlecrazed Weapon Enchantment deals an extra 1d6/2d6/3d6 (depends on its level) when you're bloodied.

Yet another common thing associated with bloodied: quite a few monsters have powers that trigger when they become bloodied. Some PCs do as well.
