Martyr Build

So I've been wanting to do a build that functions around the Martyr subdomain for a while, but sometimes the ideas just don't come flowing, and this is one of those cases. The idea is to absorb all of the damage the party takes (within reason) and then managing to heal that back off. Three classes have access to the domain; Cleric, Inquisitor, and Paladin (listed in order of how fast they gain access to the level 8 damage soak). Once again, I call upon the collective to help me with something I'd enjoy playing.

Compel hostility (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/magic/all-spells/c/compel-hostility) is good for when you're in melee range, especially at low levels. Make liberal use of shield other, and consider preparing it in your non-domain spell slots. Debilitating portent (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/magic/all-spells/d/debilitating-portent) and divine interference (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/feats/general-feats/divine-interference) help reduce the damage everyone is taking in general.

Another cool feat is in harm's way combat (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/feats/combat-feats/in-harm-s-way-combat). It's a bit expensive feat-wise (2 prereqs), requires you to have a decent dex score to be useful and the immediate action clashes with compel hostility, but it's really cool RP-wise and is a pretty good feat anyway.

Psion or Wilder with Vigor can pump a lot of temp hp out for himself. Especially using the Share Pain/Share Powers trick with your Psicrystal.

Unfortunately, Share Pain only shares YOUR damage with OTHERS, so you'll need some means of getting your party to share damage with you. Empathic Transfer is a decent between-battles start, but is still rather inefficient. Shield Other, if you can find a way to get it, is your best bet; sadly, it's a Cleric/Paladin spell. On the up side, it lasts an hour/level, so if you CAN get it, it's good for casting on your allies before you start your adventuring day.

I can't remember, does the King of Smack combo work in Pathfinder (Psychic Warrior + Claws of the Beast + Claws of the Vampire + Karmic Strike + Robilar's Gambit + Rapidstrike)? If so, you might be able to work it into your build. You could also pull off something similar with Incarnate/Crusader in 3.5 at low levels, though obviously that wouldn't transfer over unless you could import 3.5 directly.
