I'm looking to optimize a Swordsage6//Swashbuckler3/Rogue3

DM is giving 30k gold.

Thinking of focusing on Shadow Hand and Tiger Claw.
Daring Outlaw and EWP Manople are spoken for feats.

Race is still in question.

All books open.

Thanks, giants!

What are your stats? Are you decided on this level split or can there be some minor (or major) changes to the build?

Trade your Rogue sneak attack for Fighter bonus feats (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/variant/classes/variantCharacterClasses.htm#rogue), get Assassin's Stance, and take Daring Outlaw so your Rogue and Swashbuckler levels grant you full sneak attack progression.

I never understood how something like a stance or a spell or even an item can make you qualify for a feat...

Anyway, if you do this, won't be "locked" in assassin stance? Sure, Daring Outlaw would give you SA, which would qualify you for Daring Outlaw. But a feat qualifying for itself is even more cheesy than having a stance qualify for one, and I don't think many DMs would allow this

If an something gives you a prerequisite indefinitely, then it works fine. A Fighter with Int 12 can get a Headband of Intellect +2 and take Combat Expertise. If he hits middle age and his normal Int score goes to 13, he can take that off without losing the benefits of the feat. ToB p38, "A stance remains in effect indefinitely and is not expended. You enjoy the benefit your stance confers until you change into another stance you know as a swift action."

As soon as Daring Outlaw gives you +2d6 sneak attack, it meets its own prerequisite and you're free to switch stances without losing its benefit.

Stats haven't been rolled yet. This is for the DM's gf so I expect he will have her reroll 1,2,3 as he did previously. Classes aren't locked in, still up for debate :)

Human or strongheart halfling would be my suggestion. There's a decent number of races covered in the handbook in my sig.

I've heard of these... 'strongheart halflings' before. I thought they had a racial resistance to cardiac arrest and similar ailments. Now that I have actually looked them up I am suddenly very impressed!

Whisper Gnome (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/ex/20040807a&page=3), especially if you've got extra feats to take Extra Silence and Silencing Strike. Be sure to pick up Darkstalker from Lords of Madness. Throw on the Dark Creature template in Tome of Magic and start with the +1 LA bought off (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/variant/races/reducingLevelAdjustments.htm) for 3,000 xp, the character may start lower level but they'll get more xp per encounter and catch back up quick enough.

Haven't looked at Dark Creature yet, Shadow Creature + Whisper Gnome looks flipping amazing!
