Anyone got a Bear PC race?

Just like it says on the tin. Any bear races suitable for a player to use? Yeah, like Mister Bearington from that one greentext.

I could smack Awaken on a bear, but that doesn't give an LA, if any. Preferably LA 0, if possible. Heck, maybe even re-fluffing a half-orc would work. Or should I go to the folks at the Homebrew forum?

There are several anthropomorphic bears in Savage Species. That should be decent.

3rd party book, the noble wild has rules for playing animals, including bears.

No LA-0 races however, unles you shapechange all day as a druid.

It's under Table SP-11 further down the page, so just start out as a brown bear with a level in that class. Proceed to your rogueish insanity.

RAW, there's Anthropomorphic Bears from Savage Species, and the Urskan from Frostburn (the latter are Armored Bears (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Armored_bear#Armoured_Bears_.28panserbj.C3.B8rne.2 9), natch).
