The two tributes are guided to the train, a sleek bullet like object that has nothing in common with the rest of district 7. Sheila has to stoop to enter being so tall, and they find themselves in a lavishly appointed living room. Eleeza flits about the pair of them, offering condolences whilst trying to remain upbeat.

Neither tribute looks particularly keen about being mothered however, and are conveniently saved by the arrival of their mentors. Blight is a middle aged man with firm muscles beneath his loose, district style clothing. He smiles kindly at the two tributes whilst appraising them silently. Behind him comes Joanna Mason, flighty and capricious, wearing a tight fitting garment that is so risque it must have come from the Capitol. She glances at Sheila and has to look upwards in order to take in her size and then grins, though it is impossible to know what she is thinking.

"Welcome," Blight says in a fatherly way, "Eat, settle down, there's a long journey ahead of us." Plates of food are brought out and laid on the table; the kind of luxurious Capitol food the tributes have only heard about.

Sheila takes advantage of this offer, heading over to the table and piling a plate with various meats.

As I said in your respective IC's, I'm taking over for MrE temporarily while he's away. This is a shared IC for the both of you, feel free to still use your private ones if you have private thoughts to express.

As soon as she sees the food Sheila heads to the meat and starts eating as much of it as possible. She didn’t seem that interested in eating anything other than the meat. She sat down and stretched out on the seat. She continued to chew on some of the meat as she relaxed and scratched her cheek. She didn’t seem like she was going to be talking on her own volition any time soon.

Sorry, about taking so long to post this. I posted in my regular IC and just got around to removing her thoughts

While Sheila eats, the screen mounted in the wall of the car flickers to life. The Panem anthem blares out and is soon replaced by the familiar faces of Caesar and Claudius. Blight and Joanna both turn their attention to the screen, taking seats around the table Sheila's at as they watch. The recap begins shortly after a few moments of banter.

Following the recap, Joanna lets out a low whistle. Blight gives the two tributes a concerned look, "It's going to be a tough year, I won't lie to you about that. You're going to have to work at it if you want to pull through."

The speeding train catches your attention as it suddenly begins to slow. For the last hour the train has been speeding along mountains and shooting through tunnels. Finally it comes out of a final tunnel and the sun shines down upon it. With it now slowing, the train track curves to the side and allows you to see in the distance the capital.

A gigantic metropolis, it is comprised of countless metal buildings that stretch into the sky towards the clouds. Never in your life have you seen such tall buildings. Scattered along the skyline are floating ships that hang in the sky.

The train continues to slow, and eventually closes into the city. People line the track, waving to you as the train enters the capital. The capital citizens are an odd bunch, all dressed in bright colors with bizarre hairstyles and some even have odd grafts on their bodies. The sheer number of them decorating the pristine streets is mind boggling to you.

Once the train stops, your chaperone takes you to a nearby building. There a team of highly trained capital employees take over cleaning you. They scrub you clean on a level you've never felt before, removing a layer of skin from your body, thoroughly washing your hair, waxing body hair, and picking any specks of dirt that may be under your nails.

From here you'll be split up again, so back to your individual IC's for your descriptions of prep teams etc. You'll be back in this thread soon enough more or less straight after the parade, though. IC - Hunger Games Thread (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?357262-IC-The-Hunger-Games)

Odath Fergusson

Upon boarding the train, a look of surprise washes over Odath's face, followed quickly by a scowl then back to his sullen blank poker face. He dropped into the nearest chair then palmed a steak knife then began fiddling with it idly. He stabbed at his food, eating only using his knife, likely drawing a glare or mollified response from the capitol chaperon.

A similar flood of emotions appeared on Odath's face, albeit more briefly than in the train car. He managed to refrain from scowling openly, probably to make himself seem more likable in the public eye. He was gaining more control of himself. He could not, however bring himself to smile. A possible look of amusement crossed his eyes, but no more.

When the stylists started on him, he growled, but eventually he let them work without complaint. The pain of being scrubbed so clean was startling, even for him, but he bore it. The outfit they started him on made him cringe. The others they looked at were not much better. Even worse, they put make up and perfume on him. He wasn't really in the mood to stop them, but he seemed to struggle with the reasoning behind it.

With the parade over, District 7's chariot is lead away from the central path, taking a route that brings it to an imposing skyscraper. The chariot stops outside the building where the tributes are met by Eleeza. The escort smiles in a motherly way and then leads the group inside.

The skyscraper is an impossible building that seems to reach up infinitely above them, the central section being made up of completely transparent glass. Eleeza ushers them to a clear glass tube and stepping inside, presses a panel and a golden 7 appears before the capsule suddenly hurtles upwards. When it stops, the pair is ushered out into a fantastic apartment, the likes of which they have only ever seen on the Capitol broadcasts. There are sofas in the centre of the room, pointing to a wall that they guess will turn into a screen at some point, and further along is a large dining table where Blight and Joanna are sat. On the far side, there are huge windows that look out onto the evening sky.

Eleeza gestures to the rows of doors down each side which have the titles of their occupants embossed in gilded lettering: Male Tribute, Female Tribute, Mentor, Mentor, Escort.

As soon as they enter Blight jumps to his feet and gestures to the table to join them and Eleeza hurries the two over.

Blight appears worried, but there is an intensity to his gaze which is absent from the other two. Joanna is sat next to him, looking disinterested, but she grins at Odath in a mildly predatory manner. "So you saw your competition first hand then. How are you feeling?" Blight asks.

Can't really tell yet, we can't tell who is going to be a threat just by looking, we need to see who does well in training. Besides they way they reacted at the choosing is almost certainly more important than how they dressed and acted when prepared. Lets see district 1 appear to be strong, District 2 seems to have a weaker group this year possibly spell casters, district 3 is a child who will probably try to hide and the male doesn't seem to hold stress well, district 4 I have no idea, district 5 are probably spell casters, the female I'm not sure about but the last name of the male suggests he comes from a family of bards, district 6 female is a halfling so they are probably a thief... Sheila's face darkens a bit before lightening as she continues to talk. ...but the male seems good and strong. District 7 is us of course. Both of the tributes from district 8 are children and probably are not much of threat unless if they happen to be casters. District 9 is weird it isn't common for the games to make any error. That means there might be something off about the female but I don't know. The male's last name suggests that he is from a family with magical powers, possibly a diviner family. The female for district 10 is a gnome and they are known as great illusionists, the male I have no idea. The district 11 tributes I have no idea on. District 12 female didn't seem that special but the male seems to have trouble accepting his placement. I wouldn't be surprised if he tries to escape and gets himself killed before the games even start. At least if he causes enough trouble there is a chance he will make the game designers angry enough that he focuses on them. Seems like a relatively strong group this year but again it is hard to tell before we start training.

Odath Fergusson

Odath shifts uncomfortably under the female mentor's stare. Blight's invitation to a conversation would have helped if he was good at that sort of thing.

Then came Shiela's response. If Odath was entirely stunned by that analysis, it only showed on his face for a split second. He's pretty sure it was only a split second anyway. Odath had come to some similar conclusions either way, but he felt a little less certain than Shiela seemed to be. How could he feel certain when Joanna was looking at him like that?

He started to talk to try and distract himself, blurting out, "What Shiela said. But also, how against the rules is it to team up?" Odath appears confused as if the words coming out of his mouth were foreign and strange before resuming his stoic mask. Albeit slightly redder than before.

Blight listened carefully to Sheila's analysis, whilst Joanna rocked on her chair occasionally glancing towards the male tribute with a devilish grin.

"I joined the career pack in my games, albeit briefly. Joanna managed on her own, though partly through guile. There is nothing in the rules about teaming up, just remember, only one of you can win, so you can't trust anyone. You need to be certain that your allies need you, otherwise you'll go to sleep one night and not wake up."

"If magic is strong in this games, then you'll need to be careful Sheila: you can't trust to appearances. Your best bet against anyone you even remotely believe to be a mage is to use absolute caution. Approach with stealth, or better yet, let someone else take care of them."
