This is the Imperial battlefleet.

The fleet has been sent here to scout a new world, and to prevent the New Republic from interfering in the Invasion of the planet which has been named "Town" due to a large number of drunken scientists at the time of naming.

Reports say that they have nothing but primitive technology, but given the failure of the Empire to the Ewoks at Endor, they cannot be underestimated.

We do not know if the New Republic has come here or not, but we must find that out and prevent them from enacting their plans.

((Nothing will occur about that until there are enough people that it is reasonable to start a battle.))

This fleet is commanded by Grand Admiral Thrawn (http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Thrawn). ((Controlled by me when I am online. NPC otherwise.))

The average ship has a moderate number of Dark Adepts, who do wield lightsabers, a large number of imperial pilots, a small number of high ranking officials, and a moderate number of Stormtroopers.

List of Commanders:

((Just post in the thread requesting a command.))

Lord Magtok
2007-02-25, 08:54 PM
A hologram of Magtok materializes on board the bridge of the Chimera. His hood is on, and his face is unseen. Only the glow of his red robotic eye is visible from within the hood.

Somehow, the hologram manages to convey a message of contempt towards the Imperials.

Who is in charge here, and what do they think they're doing in orbit of the Town?

Vespe Ratavo
2007-02-25, 10:53 PM
A hologram of Vespe also appears next to the hologram of Magtok.
Hey! Magtok! It's me, Vespe! Remember? Anyway, who do you guys think you are? You come up here in your big old ship and think you can just ORBIT the Town like you're some kinda level 30 big shot? Well... let me see what I have to say about that.
*Gets in Tron getup*
BUAHHAHAH!
*goes into system to wreak havoc*

The command chair turns around to reveal a blue skinned red eyed humanoid. His voice is calm, despite the fact that you did just barge onto his starship.

I am in charge, and the Emperor has commanded me to take over this world. I presume you have an objection to that?

Of course, the engineers try to fling Vespe out of the system.

The Chiss speaks to Vespe (Whether he is in the system or not) And I am 35th level thank you.

*Lord Nekulor Dyrr's medium sized airship materializes in space above the planet*

Mr.Vader, in a communication to the encroaching fleet
"Lord Dyrr has not finished his defense of the murderer Fus yet, but he will arrive shortly. I am acting admiral of this ship until then. Mr. Riddle, raise shields 75%, and convert 30% of power to maintaining our vacuum shields. I do not want to die from suffocation in space... ah the perils of using an airship as an intergalactic vessel."

* on the vessel, two large cannons can be seen gathering a black antimatter energy. They seem to be powered by an unseen energy source.*

((In communication with Thrawn?))

Nekulor
2007-02-26, 08:47 AM
((Yes, in communication to Thrawn.))

Lord Magtok
2007-02-26, 03:04 PM
The hologram stares angrily at the two interfering pests, and turns to Thrawn.

Sir, this entire world will have objection to your intrusion. There is also a wide variety of powerful energies on this world, many of which could easily annihilate your forces.

However, I am willing to strike a deal. You see, I am in need of a new body. My previous one was slaughtered in an unfortunate occurence. If you give me command of a major portion of your fleet and resources, I will aid you in taking this very unique world, build myself a new body, and this world will be under my jurisdiction.

Any objections, Admiral?

((He should have an objection or two, as that's a very unfair deal. Magtok gets the world, and the stuff, and Thrawn gets nothing.))

Fus appears and begins playing with the levers and knobs.

Meynolds
2007-02-26, 03:25 PM
((No, he gets the fame.))

Lord Vader, the Emperor has deemed that Lord Dyyr and Fus are irrelevant to this. I am here to subjugate this world in its entirty.

Fus, get away from the control panels.

A pair of Dark Adepts walk over to him, holding lightsabers in their hands.

As to your proposition, Magtok, I am afraid I can not agree to those terms. Perhaps we could split the world between us? Also, you would get a position within the fleet, perhaps commanding a ship or a small group of ships.

Would those terms be acceptable?

Castaras
2007-02-26, 03:26 PM
Fus carries on playing with the levers and knobs.

Meynolds
2007-02-26, 03:28 PM
The Adepts use the force to try and throw him away from the control panels.

Castaras
2007-02-26, 03:30 PM
He gets thrown back. He stands up and goes back to the same control panel and begins playing with the levers and knobs. The ship should start jerking about now...

Meynolds
2007-02-26, 03:34 PM
The ship shakes for a brief couple of seconds, and anyone who looks out the main view can see a small squadron of X-wings exploding in wondrous colors.

So they are here already Thrawn mutters to himself.

Fus carries on manipulating the controls.

Meynolds
2007-02-26, 03:40 PM
Out the front window, several repeating lasers can be seen moving in sockets.

The main hologram display now shows a pair of small frigates moving towards the fleet.

Maneuver the Star Destroyers Sabre and Republic to strike with full broadsides.

Meynolds

The guns stop moving, and the Adepts grab him by his shoulders, to take him down to the brig.

Castaras
2007-02-26, 03:50 PM
Hey! I'm just having fun where the fourth wall can't hurt me for being two places at once!

He gets caught.

Meynolds
2007-02-26, 03:53 PM
((Say, where else is he? And why wouldn't the fourth wall be working here?))

Hearing this the Adepts attempt to inject him from some syringes labeled "Fourth Wall Injection" to get him back to being in one place at a time.

Castaras
2007-02-26, 03:55 PM
(( In one of the cells at the police station. ))

He ducks and runs about, yanking on controls, pressing big red buttons, and pulling levers.

Meynolds
2007-02-26, 04:03 PM
((So, why would the fourth wall not be attacking him?))

Several shots are fired from the 501st division on the ship.
Note: The Stormtrooper Effect does not apply to the 501st.

Meanwhile, several Noghri sneak behind Fus.

Also on the main hologram now shows shots being fired between the frigates and Star Destroyers.

The frigates are annihilated.

*Nekulor materializes on his ship*
Lord vader, I see we are engaged. Please open full broadside antimatter cannon fire upon the republic star destroyers. Shields to 80% power.
*Nekulor walks to a panel and increases the power it draws from his soul in his phylactery*
We should be able to sustain a full battle now.

Castaras
2007-02-26, 04:08 PM
(( Because this isn't Fus. It's a magical projection. ))

Fus stands in front of a large red button, which says "Do not press". He presses it.

Meynolds
2007-02-26, 04:08 PM
Thrawn sends a message over to Nekulor's ship.

Actually, that was simply a scouting party. They are commanded by a Bothan, and this is a typical scouting party.

The button springs a trap, and the floor opens up below him, leading out into space through a force field.

Castaras
2007-02-26, 04:13 PM
The projection fizzles up and disappears.

Be seeing you!

Meynolds
2007-02-26, 04:22 PM
The trap is reset.

Thrawn smiles somewhat.
There is a reason it says do not press.

Lord Magtok
2007-02-26, 05:19 PM
((No, he gets the fame.))

Lord Vader, the Emperor has deemed that Lord Dyyr and Fus are irrelevant to this. I am here to subjugate this world in its entirty.

Would those terms be acceptable?

Magtok's hologram seems ignorant or uncaring of the New Republic's bombardment.

Fine. I'll create a guide and explanation of the Town's defenses for you. Hold on...

A History of the Town, Town Politics, and Conquering the Town for Dummies appear in front of the hologram.

Browse through these as I look for a Super Star Destoyer I like.

Meynolds
2007-02-26, 05:22 PM
Could I get "Conquering the Town" in a master strategist edition? And some artwork from the Town?

He lifts up "Town Politics" and begins to read it.

Nekulor
2007-02-26, 05:34 PM
*Within the bowels of Nekulor's airship, a black , tri-barrel gun emerges. The cannon gethers a black energy that slowly phases red as it charges*

Thrawn, disengage now or I will be forced to destroy your entire fleet. You have 10 min. to surrender and disengage, or I will kill you all, then use your reanimated corpses to personally prepare me a 10 course meal on my ship. If you do not comply, I will fire, and this cannon can rip a hole in space time. I have it linked to me, so it casts what I cast, times 500.

*flips through his spells*
Ah, here we go. Disintegrate.

...you know...I think I'll just fire now. You wouldn't consider surrender.

*casts, with extend spell and empower spell*
Now! Fire the cannon!

*the ray of disintegrate crushes into the shields of the imperial flagship and the two smaller star destroyers*
Ha!
*casts force barrier around his ship, then uses 5 diamonds to prepare a permenancy spell for it*
Shields holding at 85%.

Meynolds
2007-02-27, 06:54 PM
((Actually he would consider surrender. This is Thrawn, not Moff Tarkin.))

Two of the ships disintegrate, and the Chimaera simply vanishes.

A new Chimaera appears from behind the moon.

In communication with Nekulor:
Do you really think I would leave my Flagship in the open like that?

We shall fall back, but we shall be returning in all likelihood.

The Emperor does not like failure.

Thrawn sighs and cuts the comm.
What good evil is this going to do?
His fleet enters hyperspace, taking the Magtok holo with it.

.75 hyperspace drives, every one of them.

Lord Magtok
2007-03-02, 09:42 PM
Deep in an entirely different world, Magtok tries to telekinetically tell Nekular that Thrawn might be a fool, but he also might make an effective tool ally.

Meynolds

A large number of contacts appear on the radar screens of each of the ships in the Imperial Battlefleet, thirty-seven to be specific.

A hologram of Shas'O Nukular appears on the bridge of the Chimaera.

Attention unknown vessels! This is Shas'O Nukular of the mercenary base-ship Blackout Raider. You are ordered to identify yourselves!

Meynolds
2007-03-03, 07:45 PM
((I'm going to post what is seen in your thread, alright?))

Blackout Raider, this is the Imperial Starship Chimaera.

I am Grand Admiral Thrawn, currently on a fallback vector from the planet Town.

I do not wish for any unnecessary engagement, I have lost two Star Destroyers today already.

The ships drop out of hyperspace and reposition in a battle line.

blackout
2007-03-03, 07:48 PM
Chimaera, please state what your original objectives were when you entered the system. Perhaps we can assist.

Meynolds
2007-03-03, 07:54 PM
Thrawn calls up text on a nearby monitor.

To quote:

Mission Objectives:

1. Subjugate the newly discovered world of Town.
2. Destroy the guaranteed Rebel presence nearby.
3. Destroy any other forces in the vicinity.

I do not plan on carrying out point three. I never made this plan, it was made by some idiot Moff behind a comfortable desk.

Idiotic bureaucrats, all of them.

blackout
2007-03-03, 08:00 PM
Sadly, I'm afraid I can't let you complete objective one either. And objective two is already completed. There is no such thing as rebels here.

Meynolds
2007-03-03, 08:04 PM
I didn't think so on number one. Are you here to conquer the world as well?

Perhaps we could come to an agreement.

We are thinking of different rebels I believe.

These rebels control about a quarter of the known universe, and this planet happens to be on the border between what they have taken and what the Empire controls.

blackout
2007-03-03, 08:09 PM
No, really. Ever since we got here, until you showed up, we were the only group with any kind of space forces in the entire system, as well as the surrounding ones. And no, we are not here to conquer this world. This planet is under my personal protection. You wouldn't want it anyways.

Meynolds
2007-03-03, 08:14 PM
He sighs.

It is not a question of whether or not I want it, and I don't, it is a question of whether or not some idiot Moff wants it, and he does.

I guess the Rebellion hasn't come here. I was looking forward to facing off against their best admiral.

A Captain comes over and whispers something in his ear.

Thrawn nods and whispers something back.

The Captain sends out several messages to the rest of the fleet and some ships begin to reposition themselves.

blackout
2007-03-03, 08:19 PM
Nonetheless, you can't get it for this Moff of yours. This planet is under the government of the town, and is currently protected by my forces. Pull out. Now. Failure to comply will be met with lethal force.

Meynolds
2007-03-03, 08:25 PM
At that presice moment, the reason for the movement of the ships becomes apparent.

A number of ships equal to the number of ships in Thrawn's fleet appear at the far reach of scanners.

An impressive number of starfighters fly out of docking bays, engaging starfighters from the other fleet.

Ah, I did not realize that Town has a governemnt. Now if you'll excuse me for a few moments, I have a small fleet to eliminate.

The capital ships are facing each-other, just over maximum range away.

blackout
2007-03-03, 08:30 PM
Damn! I can't believe I didn't see that! Launch all fighters and bombers! Order the frigates Interceptor and Shadow to concentrate their fire on those fighters! Arm the Ion Cannons, aim for the lead ship!

Meynolds
2007-03-03, 08:34 PM
The rebel fleet forms up into a wedge and begins to charge forward.

The Imperial fleet remains still, firing lasers into the approaching fleet.

As Nukular's fighters intercept the enemy, the dogfights appear to be quite even now.

blackout
2007-03-03, 08:40 PM
Nukular notices the other fleet at the far edge of the system, after spotting them on the radar screen.
Attention unidentified fleet! We require assistance! Engage the Imperial forces!
A crewman at a console in front of Nukular gives him a thumbs-up. Nukular nods, knowing what it means.
Fire!
One of the larger guns on the front of the Base-Ship fires right at Admiral Thrawn's flagship. A huge beam of blue-white energy surges forward.
Meanwhile, a pair of torpedo bombers, escorted by a wing of Sabres, flies towards one of the ships that appears to be deploying the most fighters.

Meynolds
2007-03-03, 08:47 PM
((You do know their goals are essentially the same as Thrawn's? Of course, Thrawn is unlikely to follow through with his plan, seeing how well defended the Town is.))

As the Rebel fleet approaches Thrawn's, his fleet splits in two, flanking the Rebels.

The huge beam of energy misses the Chimeara as it moved out of the way to better engage the rebels, and instead it hits a carrier, which had incidentally been deploying large numbers of fighters.

The ships at the back of Thrawn's fleet now begin engaging Nukular.

blackout
2007-03-03, 08:52 PM
Damn. Missed. Prepare to fire forward plasma lances! Target these frigates. Nukular points at three little red dots, depicting the frigates on his radar screen, which, on the screen, begin blinking. The plasma lances fire, and wipe out the shields, while causing minor hull damage.

Meynolds
2007-03-03, 09:02 PM
The trio of frigates retreat slightly and return fire.

The rebel capital ships have lost some shields, and are beginning to take minor damage.

One portion of Thrawn's fleet begins working around to be behind the rebel fleet.

A hologram of Vader appears on Thrawn's bridge and tells him something, to which he responds I don't give a kriff about Skywalker.

blackout
2007-03-03, 09:08 PM
Hmm? Nukular thnks for a moment, and just shrugs. Arm shield-breakers and torpedoes! Target the flagship. The sooner we cut the head off the serpent, the better.

Meynolds
2007-03-03, 09:17 PM
((May I ask what he thought?))

The ships reach the rear of the rebel ships and begin to take out the engines.

A small number of ships form up around the flagship and open fire on Nukular's ships.

Meanwhile, a scratchy hologram appears on the flagship of Nukular's fleet.

Identify yourself it says.

blackout
2007-03-03, 09:23 PM
Shas'O Nukular, Blackout Raiders Mercenary Army. You are...?

The Base-ship's concussion missles, particle cannons, and autocannons open fire on the ships surrounding the Chimaera. Three of the Raider cruisers move to support the rebel ships, opening fire with their plasma lances and autocannons on the Imperials.

((He assumed Skywalker might be the commander of the carrier that was destroyed, or something like that.))

Meynolds
2007-03-03, 09:31 PM
One of the ships protecting the Chimaera explodes spectacularly, and creates quite the cloud of debris and smoke.

The Imperial ships continue to fire on the rear of the Rebellion fleet, which begins, ship by ship, to jump to hyperspace.

-------------------

Admiral Nek Bwua'tu, Supreme Commander, Alliance to Restore the Republic.

At this the holo becomes rather fuzzy, and it coincides with at Mon Calamari cruiser jumping to hyperspace.

blackout

Why are they jumping out?! Damn! Cruiser group Delta, break off and fall back! All frigates, form Attack Position Delta-four-zero! Battleships, form Attack Position Omega-three-two! Cruisers, form up on the Base-ship! Carriers, fall back! Fighters and gunships, pick and engage any targets you wish!

At this, the frigates form a simple arrowhead formation, with eight of the battleships forming a dome formation with one battleship behind it. The Carriers fall back to the edge of the system, and the cruisers surround the base-ship. All ships continue to fire at their nearest targets, but the Base-ship concentrates fire on the Chimaera.

Just leave my fleet out of the crossfire. I need every ship I can get, and can't afford to risk losing them in a petty squabble between town natives. Second, if and when Thrawn shows up again, what makes you think he won't shoot at you guys as well? I think that we should focus all of our firepower on a consolidated defense effort. Meynolds
2007-03-04, 07:39 PM
He glances at something in his hand.

Only some of the ships are too damaged to fight.

He motions to someone else, and the most damaged of the ships begin to head off at a new trajectory, off into space. The colonization ships join them.

Now, what's this about Thrawn?

blackout
2007-03-04, 07:49 PM
He hit the town yesterday...well, he hit the town's orbit yesterday. My forces and I beat him back, but I think he'll be back. He doesn't seem the type to give up after losing only a few ships. And recall your ships, except the colonization ones. I have some mobile shipyards on the far end of the system, we can repair them.

Meynolds
2007-03-04, 07:52 PM

Meynolds
2007-03-04, 08:02 PM
He sounds rather incredulous hearing this.

Only 37? Even in the largest battle of this whole war, the largest battle has only involved around 300 capital ships, but many thousands of fighters. And somehow I doubt that the most people would take well to unknown ships escorting colony ships. This war involves politics more than warfare recently.

blackout
2007-03-04, 08:06 PM

Mr. Piccard, bring power to the main and auxiliary cannons to 150%, try not to overload them though. Fire at the lead ship in the group with the antimatter cannon, and use this scroll as the magical foci.

*hands him a scroll of Evard's Black Tentacles*

That should bind the engines on the lead ship and tear into the hull if it works right and the shot connects. Fire normal pulse and ion cannons at the other ships.

*piccard calls the gun crews to order and they open fire as soon as preliminary preparations are completed*

*Nekulor, in communication with the covenant ships destro has called*
This is Lord Nekulor Dyrr. You are violating the sovereign space of Planet Town, which I am preparing to assault in the coming months. We are currently firing upon you...or will be when the main cannon is finished calibrating. You have 1 minute to leave this sector or you will face possibly destruction by my flagship...and two of my destroyers.

((at this point, all should note that Nekulor's ships are best described as steam punk ships. Most of them look like 18th century sailing ships modified with metal plating and lacking masts. The flagship carries 10 cannons, 5 ion, 4 pulse laser, and the main antimatter cannon which Nekulor has modified to amplify spells and fire them as a sort of enchantment on the antimatter warhead. The destroyers are lareger, more traditional looking space battleships, but they still have that classic ship quality to them. They are both armed with single normal antimatter cannons, 5 short range pulse guns, 2 ion repeating cannons and about 75 fighters, bombers and transports, in equal amounts.))

*goes to a panel and presses a button, a siren can be heard on board.*

The armoured man opens a Comm channel to wherever Namos is. Look friend, I'm currently trying to end this whole thing so we can all be on our way, alright? Now then. If you'd like a shield, or whatever, for your satellite I can arrange that. For now though can you let me do my job?

Enemy response time. The rules of this realm demand that I wait to see what he does before I can take another action. You don't like it, tough. The armoured man grins inside his helmet. Shouldn't take long though. I have already done it.

Some bony guy and what appears to be a bunch of characters ripped off from other sources. I'm not worried. I mean, really. I'm just a regular guy with some command ability, really nice armour, and a few enhancements. But it's the planning that makes all the difference.

*to destro's flagship*
Do you know how long it took to assemble this crew? I spent ten years in transit between Sigil, at the center of the planescape, and the multiple universes they all came from. It was one hell of a lot of work. However, I did pick up a few souvenirs along the way. My destroyers and this flagship are far more formidable than they look, but you'll find that out soon enough. By the way, a gift.

*Nekulor casts dimension door upon a group of flood all tightly caged together near his command chair*

Enjoy, they should be portalling in as we speak.

*Nekulor laughs*
Oh, yes.

*over his comm network, but still on screen*
Men, full barrage, each ship should engage the other fleet 1-1. I don't want to call up The Xui Al, Terthraxis, and Valkyrie if I don't have to. Make every shot count. We will concentrate fire on the flagship with the antimatter cannon. I want full guard contingents at all boarding locations, including the lower level docks. Outside, I want a 20 fighter guard contingency for each ship. Everyone else, blitz your corresponding enemy target. Happy Hunting!

I'll see you in hell commander.

*laughs, then shuts off the communications*

((lol destro. Yes, the crazed mages can be really hard to deal with. Just play a paladin and get smite undead ready whenever they come around. It will usually work out for the best.

A large starship, the Feare powers in, locking it's 70 high power plasma lasers on the airship's weak spot. Xerillum, the captain of the ship, sends a message to the airship. You had better not do anything, because I can destroy your precious little ship in one fell swoop. The guns fire with antimagic plasma at the airship, crushing a hole into the shield. The guns fire again for another round, full power, enough to drain all power from the ship for a short time.

An impossibly large fleet, of over two-thousand ships, coordinate fire on the Feare. There's more than enough armament to vaporize a planet between all of these ships, so a starship should be no trouble.

All cannons! Full power, blast the new ship. I want it to explode on contact! Dreadnought Xui Al, concentrate both cannons and all minor plasma, ion, and laser cannons on the hull and engines.

My crew, modify the cannon to fire a force arrow spell within it! I want his shields to die fast and hard!

Battleships, launch all bombers and 20 infiltrator squads, to take the dead ship!
