I was going over some classes for potential builds, and this line segment kept jumping out at me. It comes up in Bardic Performance, Rage, and possibly in even more places. It is unclear whether this refers to each level after 1st IN THIS CLASS or each level after 1st ON THIS CHARACTER (aka total class level). Is there an official ruling/clarification on this available anywhere?

From here (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/extras/pathfinder-faq)

Q: Some of the class Powers/Abilities require the player to be a certain level. Is that the minimum class levels that the PC must be, or is that the minimum character level?

A: (Jason Bulmahn) Class abilities that refer to level always refer to your level in that class unless stated otherwise.

Thanks. Waste of a topic, but I could not for the life of me find it.

They have a FAQ for it? It has been in the core rule book since like forever. :smalltongue:

Under multiclassing (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/classes/character-advancement#TOC-Multiclassing), page 31 in the book.

Note that there are a number of effects and prerequisites that rely on a character's level or Hit Dice. Such effects are always based on the total number of levels or Hit Dice a character possesses, not just those from one class. The exception to this is class abilities, most of which are based on the total number of class levels that a character possesses of that particular class.

And yeah it's an easy to miss thing, but all the classes assume you know this and rarely call out you need "class levels".
