Gladiator/Survival Campaign help

So for a campaign my buddy is running it will be like an arena/ gladiator/ survival type thing. I was thinking a ninja could be pretty cool, as i want to stay away from brute force. I love Barbs, but theyre a little too normal for me for an environment like that. Are there any cool like sneaky or hand to hand or cool class/ PrC i could run? We start lvl 5, no LA races, but any race. And ideas Commence!! :) thanks!

Ninja is one of the worst base classes ever. I would probably make a swordsage or some sort of caster focusing on buffs or BFC if you want to be sneaky.

If this PF? In that case, Ninja (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/classes/alternate-classes/ninja) is actually decent at its job, and the class may be decent at any theft/intrigue which goes on between matches. During matches, it would probably spend most of its time flanking with the party beatstick to score sneak attacks.

The fact it has class based invisibility helps.
