So am in a weird place, everyone can legally download and use the PDF for free. We can all see tables, and all that, but it isn't under an OGL licenses like 3.5 basic rules.

ARe we allowed to openly talk and post the tables that are on that public release?

It is probably better to link to the page where this can be downloaded and not directly to the pdf: Link (http://www.wizards.com/dnd/Article.aspx?x=dnd/basicrules).

But being free hasn't anything to do with copyright or not. For example we aren't allowed to repost any of the Giant's work without permission - yet it is clearly available for free.

No one can forbid discussion about it, and you can certainly post about what you talk (e.g. page 23423 table 42). But the site doesn't say anything about copyright or reproducibility, so I would really err on the side of caution.

From experience: No, you can link to free copywrit ten information (where the copyright holder themself is giving it away free) but you cannot link it directly yourself and cut out the middle man. I had the same issue with the free ruleset for Demon: the Fallen being given away on the demon kickstart. You can freely discuss and you can feely link to the people giving it away who are allowed to, but that's it.

Sheriff: Talk about it, of course. Post parts of it, no.
