The Necropolitan template (Libris Mortis, pp. 114-115) is LA: Same as the base creature, though it will cost you a level and some (additional) XP.

If you're willing to set it up early in your career necropolitan does it and only costs 1000 XP and a sum of gold that's paltry in the long run.
