Good day, everyone.
I just started playing a character with a pretty lenient DM (who just sees my cheesing as a "challenge", some intellectual exercise to see who can come up with the best tactics). The build I'm using is a houseruled Wizard/Ur-Priest/Mystic Theurge. I came up with pretty good stats with random dice rolls. So far I have:
STR: 14
DEX: 17
CON: 16
INT: 18
WIS: 18
CHA: 16
I've started as a human, and I've agreed with the DM to forego the "Evil alignment" and "Spell Focus (Evil)" requirements for the Ur-Priest, instead changing the feat requirement to "Spell Focus (any)". Also, I'm pretty confident I can sucker him into "forgetting" the skill requirements for class entry. Yeah, I'm a crooked player, like Belkar (in fact, I wanted to PLAY Belkar, but the DM vetoed it on the basis of the CE alignment). My current feats are Iron Will, Alternative Spell Source and Spell Focus. I still have to decide on which Spell Focus school to take, advice is welcome.
At the moment I'm level 3, close to 4. My plan is to advance to Wiz 5, then take the first level of Ur-Priest. After that, it's Mystic Theurge all the way to MT 9 (which will give me 9th level Divine spells), and then spend my remaining levels on WIZ. I'll be one level late in gaining 9th level Arcane slots, but I'll counter it by gaining 9th Divine early (as early as CL 14, if I somehow manage to muster enough Wisdom to pull it off, CL 15 otherwise) and being able to prepare Divine as Arcane and vice versa, plus I'll essentially be getting 3 levels in one from the Mystic Theurge advancement due to the rapid progression of the Ur-Priest. Alignment, thanks to the DM houseruling the Ur-Priest, is Chaotic Good.
The stats bonuses I'm planning to get are 1 DEX, 2 WIS and 2 INT, although I still have to determine the exact order. I'll probably upgrade DEX first, then WIS and lastly INT, although I plan to procure stat-enhancing items along the way.
Level 20 CL is going to be 19 for both classes. Due to the buildup of the group (one VERY BAD druid, one Ranger and 3 rogues) I had to fill the roles of both Arcane and Divine caster.
What I would ask of more experienced players is: which Magic Items should I aim for? Unless something is obscenely overpowered, I think I should have no problems in making anything fly at this table, plus the world is a "magic-mart" one (pay gold, obtain magic). At level 3 I'm looking at the Handy Haversack and the Blessed Book at the moment, but what about advice for subsequent levels? I'm trying to plan way, WAY ahead.
Also, if you have any suggestions to improve my build, feel free to give them. Even after the first session, I have established myself as the tactical mind and the "leader" of the party easily. I don't think the DM is going to veto much to his strongest and best party member and roleplayer. Please just don't suggest straying much from the path I've already planned for, stuff like Fochlucan Lyrist and Sublime Chord are way out of my league for the way I developed the character.
As a sidenote, in a homage to Tsukiko, I've made my MT have eyes of two different colors :)
Thank you in advance for your time!
