The Super-Human Societal Conference, a landmark event in the progress cape and mask work has made in the last few decades, celebrating it's fifth anniversary at the Boston College . As a public convention with panels, exhibits, and resources offered for every aspect of super-hero work, the SSC is doesn’t have nearly as much in common with the fan-focused media madhouses that are most “Cape” conventions. The SSC is focused on the practical side of things, for private employers and civic bodies looking to develop facilities and protocols for relating to and interacting with super-powered individuals, whether they fight crime or are looking to build a better mousetrap. It’s also a place where the potentially heroically inclined or super-potentialed to network and learn more about resources available to them (or “people they know”) clandestinely, as necessary. Amongst the booths and stalls and displays one can find certain less “legitimate” peddlers of ‘DIY’ superhero kits and programs (even a few more discriminatory ‘cape-countermeasures’), but for the most part, it’s a friendly event with a very professional feel to it. The only folks in uniform are the representatives at the various booths and a handful of hero-types (along with a modicum of corporate mascots); no overzealous and overbearing cape-cosplayers and fans here.

Attached to the scenic Boston Waterfront Hotel, it offers a certain security and privacy for execs and VIPs, which has helped to give credibility and legitimacy in a field populated with people wearing tights and flashy emblems, and the partially open air exhibition hall makes for as attractive a venue as any (especially for those who prefer less grounded transportation). On this, the second day of the conference, events have so far been running smoothly, though the crowds are just a tad thicker from yesterday, many deciding apparently to get an early start amidst the press of the convention hall at seeing all the SSC has to offer. Their are several seminars and panels schedules for later in the day, but the real draw is the address by retired masked adventurer, and current candidate for the US Senate, Arthur Conway, better known in his heyday as Captain Dauntless. A sensation through the mid sixties, his reputation as a hero at home and abroad is sterling, though the nature of his 'abilities' has long been the subject of debate, as the Captain seems capable of various feats of daring and heroism, yet none that ever so transcend human achievement as so many other famous heroes. No one would doubt him as anything less than a super-hero though, especially after vanquishing the notorious Monstrosimo, along side Mr. Valiant (who tragically did not survive).

The conference is abuzz with talk of this as the highlight of the Captain's campaign so far, running on a platform of increased Superhuman cooperation with the federal government, and new transparency into government metahuman affairs. Serious subjects to be sure, in this day and age, but the warm and charming Captain Dauntless has made his campaign successful by keeping things optimistic and upbeat, and the mood of the SSC is nothing less, making it a perfect venue. In the mean time, the guests and vendors are happy to cash in on the mutual free publicity offered by such a public figure in attendance.

Katie was enjoying herself tremendously, walking along the conference with her brother beside her. She was keeping up a steady stream of chatter, partially because there were a lot of cool things around to point out, partially to help distract Kyle from the crowds. It had taken her a solid fifteen minutes to convince him to come in when they had arrived and seen how many people were around, and she doubted he'd be staying the whole day. She was kinda impressed he had held out through the first hour, actually. He was every bit as uncomfortable around crowds as she was alone.

They were at the moment browsing the technological displays, occasionally stopping to discuss the function and theory behind the more effective devices on display with their owners...more often getting a booth or two down before bursting into laughter at what some of these people were peddling. Kyle would point out the various technical flaws while her analysis was more along the lines of, "Yeah, that one didn't even ping my powers!" Augmented, Katie could detect and analyze the "powers" of certain technology, past a point. What that exact point was, well, she had never quite determined empirically. Still, "sufficiently advanced as to be indistinguishable from magic" had always served as a solid yardstick.

She was in costume, such as it was. Anyone who knew her face would have little trouble identifying her, what with her "mask" being just a pair of mirrored sunglasses, but secrecy wasn't really the point. It seemed like an appropriate place to be in costume, and so she was. She was a superhero, after all! Technically.

The sheer number of supers, devices, and other power sources around though was a bit...overwhelming. It wasn't quite as bad as, say, empathy, but she kinda felt like she had just crammed for an entire semester of finals over the course of a full weekend. Too much information swimming around in her head for her to actually do anything with it. But she figured as long as her nose didn't start bleeding it wasn't anything she had to worry about.

Leon Tynes, Consul

Leon yawned and stretched his arms out above his head. He was attending his first SSC convention, figuring it would be a good place to gather a lot of information about the current state of super-human affairs on Earth. Naturally, he is in his uniform - which he THOUGHT would give him some sort of pull - but as it turns out there isn't a huge familiarity with the Consulate on Earth. Looks like it was up to him to change that.

But not today.

This was his second day at the convention. The first he spent diligently introducing himself to various people of import, taking notes and collecting all sorts of information. Today, well, today he was taking it easy. Yesterday was a busy day, so why not take a breather? Give the information a chance to find him for a change.

Leon flops down on a comfy looking sofa in the lobby of the convention center and slides his cap down over his eyes. He figured he had a little bit of time until the panel featuring Arthur Conway, so might as well make the most of it!

Lauren found herself moving through the crowd glancing over booth after booth along the halls as she worked her way toward the panel that currently interested her, Arthur Conway's announcement and press conference. She appreciated that he'd done a lot of good work in his time in costume, but anyone wanting to step into politics just made her suspicious as a rule, and more so when they wanted more Federal Government Involvement in super powers. She was understanding up to a point of it, Super Prisons didn't build themselves and the like, but there needed to be limits. If Mr. Conway grasped this or not was something she was hoping the panel would enlighten her too.

She spocked and eye brow as she passed another booth, suppressing the urge to make a snarky remark that she was quite sure physic's and human anatomy didn't work that way, the display in question being a beam designed to shrink matter in size by, according to the sign and the flyers, removing "excess material". The fact that the thing looked like Plastic also made her skeptical, but hell, what did she know, she got tutoring on sword play form elves.

That lead her back to another train of though. Why had Titania wanted her here anyway? There weren't too many super natural powers she was aware of that would be so suicidally stupid as to attempt something either in the open or under the noses of this many people with super powers, less so since so many were in the know far as that went. Get her some more presence with the people defending earth from other and even sometimes the same problems she faced down in her role as the Summer Knight? She made a note to ask the Summer Queen that question when the convention was over if a reason hadn't made itself readily apparent by then.

Not that it wasn't cool enough to actually draw a small smile from her as she went on her way. And the Summer Queen had yet to steer Lauren wrong, so Lauren was willing to completely trust her to have a good reason. And again, it wasn't like it was unpleasant at the moment. Such was the red heads though as she stood in front of a glass window offering a reflection of her in conventional business attire and fixed a single lock of red hair that had come out of place in front of her silver eyes and adjusted the outfits jacket some over her noticeable bust before getting underway again with the long legs granted by her height just eating the space between her and her detestation with each stride.

Amelia Pryce, Magical Girl

Amelia Pryce was uncomfortable, and it had to be said she still wasn't used to . . . everything. She wore a white wool dress that was a size too large and felt a size too small, over jeggings, which had allowed Amelia to discover the horror of fake pockets. Slung over her shoulder was a courier bag covered in buttons, as in obnoxiously covered in buttons to the point it seemed to be covered in the most idiosyncratic scale mail armor imaginable as wanting to fit in to her age group she turned the thought 'teens put buttons on their bags' to 'buy ALL THE BUTTONS' which meant she had rows of ponies with names like pills Derek bought in the seventies nestled under grouping of Bieber and Slipknot fan pins.

Her hair, which reached to the nape of her back, and usually fell in inordinately long black curls was pressed almost entirely into an impressively stuffed beanie which gave her head the appearance of being topped by a lopsided grey orb. Her arms were pressed round her chest clutching themselves with an anxiousness she felt but would never admit to. She'd come to this event largely because she thought the technology would make her feel more comfortable in her new life and form but out of her costume she was jumping at each and every brush of shoulder. Somewhere in the back of her mind a particularly mean spirited element of her psych mentioned off hand that if Arthur Conway, who Derek had fought in his glory days, saw her now he would no doubt fall into a fit of pitying laughter.

In the end unwilling to admit defeat and leave but also totally unable to remain on the convention floor, Amelia curled up like a particularly worried kitten in the seat of a lobby armchair, tucking her grey converse beneath her, only to notice another fellow sitting across from her she recognized from a week or so before or more.

"Consul . . .?" she blurted before both of her hands shot to her mouth and she nearly fell out of her chair, her shifting bag a chorus of clicks as her scale mail bag of buttons moved across the leather of the armchair. As soon as she had spoken she had remembered Consul had never seen her in civilian clothes, and was never meant to. Amelia remembered herself being better with secret identities when she was a he.

Leon Tynes, Consul

"Consul . . .?"

Leon poked the brim of his cap up with his index finger. Seated across from him was an 18 year old girl with a bulbous hat and a bag literally covered with buttons. He smiled, and immediately sat up engaging the young lady in conversation. "Why hello there young lady! It is in fact I, Consul! No need to be embarrassed!" he said in reaction to the girl covering her mouth in shock that he was, in fact, Consul. Floating out of his seat into a standing position, he takes a few quick steps and sits in the closest chair to the young lady.

"How are you liking the convention? I like the hat by the way, you look good in it! Oh, and you sure have a lot of buttons, how'd you get them all? Did you want an autograph by any chance? What are you doing for the rest of the convention? Any plans for later?" he says, happily barraging her with questions.

Amelia blinked under the barrage, attempting to process a lie for each one simultaneously. Consul didn't recognize her.

. . .

What follows is less the masterful lie of Doctor Death and more than awkward mumbling of flabbergasted teenager "I'm liking the convention. I bought them. I want your autograph. I'm going to the Arthur Conway convention. I have no plans for later."

In her rush to reply as fast as Consul asked her responses came off more on auto pilot than anything else and even Consul would notice she hadn't actually given him anything to sign or sign with. A pause began to form and Amelia blurted something to fill the gap "I'm Amy. Amy Pryce."

Her eyes went momentarily wide. That was her... real name... ish. A whole life as Derek and she'd never slipped that badly, ever. God she was thankful she was never Doctor Death as an awkward teenager, she would have lasted a week.

"Pleasure to make your acquaintance, Amy." Leon says, taking her hand in his and giving it a shake. He lets it go and reaches into his uniform, pulling out a pen and pad of paper clearly marked with Boston Waterfront Hotel logos, on which he pens his autograph. Finishing with a flourish, he tears the paper from the pad and hands it to Amy. "Here you go Amy! By the way, I'm also planning on attending to Arthur Conway panel, would you like to go together? It would be nice to sit with someone."

Her route to the panal took Lauren past the lobby area, were the young woman saw a familiar figure.

She paused for a second, checking the time on her phone. She was ahead of schedual, why not see if her eyes were betraying her? Toward that end, she stepped up to within arms reach of the younger man, currently speaking to much younger girl on the couch, and tapped him on the shoulder. She looked at his face before a thin smile crossed her lips.

"Well, small world isn't? And please no disney jokes."

She gave him a moment to respond to see if he recognized her or not. Different outfit and hair style then last time but it hand't been so very long ago, though it had been fairly brief.

Amy looked down at the small piece of paper, her brain grinding largely to halt "I wouldn't mind us going toget-" Amy is cut off by Lauren's arrival and continue her total inability to think for a moment despite being a certifiable super genius she blurts out "is this your girlfriend?"

Lauren, very tall already, stood on her toes for a second to glance over Consul, looking Amelia over for a moment before, with the eye that the angle they were at Consul couldn't see, she offered her a playful wink.

"Not the last time I checked. Why, has he been telling tall tales? Very unbecoming Consul, very unbecoming indeed."

She was stern for a couple of beats, just long enough to make him sweat the least bit, and then broke into a warm smile.

"Kidding! Just kidding!" She stepped around Consul with the natural grace that came with a LOT of hand to hand combat training and experience, offering a hand to the girl.

"But where are my manners. My names Lauren." She wasn't giving her entire name out right now, she knew just how much some of the super natural types could screw with you if they got your full name from your mouth, so it wasn't an unreasonable precaution.

"Girlfriend?! No no no!" Leon says putting his hands up and waves them in denial, before chuckling when Lauren reveals she is kidding.

"How have you been Lauren?" he says, remembering her name as she introduces herself to Amy. "Been throwing any swords around lately?"

He leans closer to Amy. "She's a superhero too!" he says in a mock-whisper, pointing at Lauren and giving her a wink.

"Oh really?!" Amy says at the mention of Lauren's super hero-ness. Amy silently chastised herself at not having the remotest clue which costumed loon Lauren might be. She pushed down the fear that Lauren might be someone Amy was supposed to recognize out of costume. God did every superhero in this city just miraculously run into each other. She shifted uncomfortably in her seat and her button scale back clicked audibly beside her.

"It's very nice to meet you Lauren, are you going to the Arthur Conway panel too?"

They had made their way into the building by that point. When she saw the trio in the lobby, Katie kinda squinted looking at them. "Is that...oh, huh, I think it is!" she said with a grin, waving a cheery greeting at Lauren. "That's um...Lauren, I think her name is," she told Kyle. "She's the one who totally saved my butt from those weird...swordy dudes that time."

"I've been well, throwing swords an a number of other things involving swords and other weapons a fair bit, and less a super hero, more a person who occasional deals with crooks when they cross my path while there doing something obviously illegal and dangerous, and spends a lot of time keeping the more supernaturally inclined things in line, or as much in line as such things can be kept."

She offers with a smile before turning to Amy. "Why yes, actually, I am. You two as well?" Before turning around at the sound of another voice. It took her a second to place the woman, and she didn't recognize the man he was with, but she smiled rather warmly when she did.

"Katie! How are you, and what are you doing here! And Hobbs, there called Hobbs, Winter Fey, Nasty as they come." This as she gave her a friendly embrace by way of greeting before glancing over at the man she was with.

"So, friend, brother, boyfriend, or am I just completely off mark?" As she offered him a hand shake.

Whilst the group of convention goers exchange pleasantries and make mutual acquaintances with one another, the throngs pass and press to get into the exhibition hall, then slim down again, generally going about their business. It is more or less entirely unexpected then, when a slight tremor ripples through the ground, just enough to give just about everyone a second's pause, before people either continue on their way or speculate here and there with their fellow convention goers. It isn't until a chime over the Waterfront Hotel's PA system makes itself heard and a pleasant enough voice begins to announce, that anyone begins to get remotely wary: "Attention, your attention please. Would everyone please proceed to the nearest exit in an orderly fashion. The conference will be closing early . . ." the message begins to repeat, apparently automated, but with no immediate threats and hotel staff and security calmly ushering folks towards the exits already. Apparently, the extra staff and security brought on to accommodate Mr. Conway's know their business well, and all four of the recently introduced folks are swept up in the growing stream of persons headed towards the exits.

That was somewhat disconcerting, but not her primary concern at the moment. Katie stuck close to her brother, keeping one hand on his back and kind of guiding him along. His eyes had narrowed to slits and he was breathing really fast. He really, really didn't like crowds, and Katie tried to keep them moving as quickly as the press allowed to get him out of the clutter as soon as possible.

Leon Tynes, Consul

Consul floats up out of his seat to a standing position before extending his hand to the two newcomers. "I'm known as Consul. Maybe you've heard of me? First time back on Earth in a long while!" he says cheerfully to Katie and Kyle.

His cheerful face drops into a pout as the announcement comes that they are cancelling the panel and actually closing the whole thing early! "Awww I was looking forward to hearing Mr. Conway speak!" he says dejectedly and lets his arms hang loose, slumping down. "Does this happen often at these conventions? I don't really frequent these things much..." he says, standing on his tiptoes and looking around.

Amelia Pryce, Magical Girl

As the group was caught in a wave of people Amelia was very confused "I- ... Ugh- Wait-" Amelia's small form was being pushed about by the throng of people and in annoyance she grabbed Consul's arm without really thinking, to get his attention "I need-"

She was about to ask Consul to her out of here, he seemed to be a hero pretty publicly, but then she remembered that he'd no doubt want to make sure she got home okay or some tripe and give her no time to transform into Magical Girl undetected. She sensed something big was happening, or about to happen, and Amelia Pryce wasn't the version of her that was needed.

Then, in the microsecond of thought that Consul turned to look at her, Amelia Pryce had an idea. She was a genius now, a quasi-former evil genius, and when it came to inspiration an instant was an eternity for her. A plan came fully formed into her mind, it wasn't exactly evil, but it was long term and a little cruel, but most of all it benefited Magical Girl almost incalculably.

Suddenly Amelia looked scared and almost ill, staring up at Consul as the crowd pressed them tight "I- *breath* *breath* I'm- I'm claustrophobic. I think I'm ... *breath* having a panic attack! I need you to get me outside. PLEASE! *breath*"

Metahuman1

"Not good." She was already wondering if this was why she'd been advised to be present when the rumbling happened. And the evac order struck her more as get the civilians clear of a pending fight then simply get them out even though there was nothing going on as a just in case.

Not helping matters were the fact that Kyle and Amy seemed as though they were about to have outright panic attacks. Right, she needed to get them out of here, get armored up, and find out what the same hell was going on. She would give Titania the benefit of the doubt, that she had very little reason to think anything would actually happen, if any at all, when she told her to come here. It wasn't her style after all to send her in on bad or incomplete Intel if it could be helped, she considered that counter productive since it reduced Lauren's chances of success rather then increased them.

She got close to Katie since Consul probably had Amy. If he didn't she could still take over, but probably more efficient to let them help the one actively asking him for help while she offered her's to the person who hadn't asked.

She leaned in behind Katie, hand on her shoulder to let her know she was there.

"I'm gonna go out on a limb and say he's got a problem with crowds. If he closes his eyes I can carry him and fly him to the door and outside were there's more space, and as a result, get him out of the crowd faster. I can take you as well so you can keep near him. Just say the word."

She was bracing herself mentally, the heaven's wheel armor would probably be best for this she though, though she actually kind of liked the Adamatine Armor better until she'd had a look at what, if anything, she'd be fighting just cause it reduced the chance of a sucker punch or a lucky shot taking her out of the fight before she was in it, even as the thought crossed her mind that she was gonna feel kinda silly bracing for a fight if there wasn't anything of real danger to be fought.

"Appreciate it," Kyle managed to grunt out through gritted teeth.

"Right, Kyle, close your eyes and just focus on breathing, it will help. Both of you, hold on. Requip!"

She shined for just a second, and when it vanished she was in a proper suit of armor, no boob plate or window, no exposed legs or shoulders or back or head just to look sexy. There was a fairly light amount of plating but a proper helmet and shoulder pads, breast plate and gauntlets were among the armor, while the rest was covered in a fine ring mail. It was a silver color, glistening in the light, and sported two protrusions from the back, massive blades attached to the armor and shaped almost as wings.

Which, as evident from her rising from the ground, one arm around the waist of the brother and sister each respectively, it became evident that that was indeed what they were.

She wasted no time making for the exit now, hovering a few feet above the head of the crowds and keeping herself positioned vertically so as to make it as comfortable as possible for the passengers.

Equipped Heaven's Wheel Armor. Flight 2 (8mph.). Enhanced Dodge 5. Enhanced Parry 5. Protection 5. Enhanced Sword Rain +2 are active. "Woah," Katie said as Lauren summoned her armor, eyes going just a bit wide in surprise. It was always the thing...Katie could tell a person's powers at a glance, but the information came to her as basically a list. The difference between knowing about powers and seeing them used...it was the difference between reading a shopping list and walking into a house where Thanksgiving Dinner had just been laid out. She knew, the moment she looked at her, that Lauren could summon suits of magical armor with various enchantments.

She didn't know the armor would look that cool. Or that formidable, for that matter. Poor hobbs... she thought idly.

Kyle, meanwhile, did as he was told, closing his eyes and just trying to focus on breathing. Which was difficult. Breathing was a rather trivial mental effort, all told. Dedicating as much thought to it as he felt reasonable still left him plenty with which to calculate the number of people per square meter of space around them, the probability of any one of them having some contagious disease, the rate it might spread once the people were released, the amount of damage (physical and structural) that would be caused if something else happened and caused this mob of people to panic, the physics involved with someone of his or Katies' rather slight builds being knocked down and trampled in such a Three point one four one five nine two six five three five eight nine seven nine three two three eight four six two inhale six four three three eight three two seven nine five zero two eight eight four one exhale nine seven one...

"Whee," she cheered softly as Lauren carried them off. Partially for Kyle's benefit, mainly because flying was fun and it would never stop being fun.

Leon's eyes widened in surprise at Amy's sudden claustrophobic attack. "Oh jeez! Alright, no problem! Outside here we come!" he says, scooping her up in his arms.

He looked over to Lauren, seeing her taking care of Katie and Kyle - who also apparently didn't handle crowds well. "Looks like you've got that under control!" he quips, watching Lauren armor up.

Floating up off the ground, Consul and Amy rise above the crowd and float over to an exit. "Make way everyone!" he says, hoping people make a little room for him and his passenger to squeeze through.

With Leon, Lauren, Katie, all outside and at least Kyle managing to breathe a little easier, even while Amy continues to show symptoms of a panic attack, things are calm for a moment longer, as security personnel and staff get people out onto the green in front of the Waterfront hotel. Exiting the building in such a fashion, and landing in one of the few clear spaces available, hotel staff ignore them for the moment, somewhat closer to the building than the crowd, who are almost all staring and in some cases pointing towards the third floor above them. Having to crane their necks upward, the most recent evacuees of the conference are able to make out what appears to be smoke, slowly wafting from the side of the building two stories up from the ground level and convention hall, which is what appears to have drawn the attention of most of the crowd now that they are outside, though the smoke is rather pale and laden with more dust and particulate debris than anything, and could hardly be considered to be billowing outward.

"Thanks, Lauren," Katie said, patting Kyle's back. "You okay?"

Kyle took one more long breath and opened his eyes. "Yeah." He looked to the others, glancing away quickly in embarrassment. "Sorry."

Katie looked to Amy with a sympathetic smile. "How about you? You alright? And..." her gaze shifted to Consul. "Did you say...back on Earth, back th-"

She cut off as the staring people caught her attention, and she looked up to see the smoke. "Well that doesn't seem good..." She took the little joystick out of her belt and pushed a button, her hoverboard flying over to float silently a couple inches above the ground beside her.

Consul, Leon Tynes

Leon gently deposits Amy onto the freshly mowed lawn. He fans her a little with his arms to give her some fresh air. He thinks this should help. "Feeling any better?" he asks, sympathetic look on his face.

He turns to face Katie as she begins speaking to him, but follows her eyes up to the smoking third floor. "No good indeed. Best someone go check it out."

Grinning, Leon floats up off the ground until he is level with the 3rd floor - though keeping his distance. "Is anyone in there?" he yells, slowly floating a little closer.

Not sure whats going on in there, so Consul is going to be a little cautious - smoke doesn't normally look like that after all. Even though we aren't in combat or anything, I'd like to ready my deflect power if possible, you know, just in case stuff comes flying out of that mysterious smoke

"No trouble, you don't need to apologize. Not like I wasn't going this way anyway." The last part a bit of humor to try and lighten his spirits.

When she observed the smoke, however, her face grew serious again.

"Right, everyone going to be ok if I go to try and handle that? Requip!"

Another glow about her body, and the armor changed, the blade like wings become more of a mix of metal and bat-like ones, and the armors color scheme changing to black. There were a few more plates with a bit more over lap, but not enough to be properly called scales. And in her hands was a green and blue Tridant, long enough to be comfortably used two handed, but not so very long that using it one handed with the right grip and enough arm strength was totally out of the question.

Requipping to activate Blackwing Armor. Flight 5 (60mph) Protection 5 Enhanced dodge 5 Enhanced parry 5 all activated, replaces benefits of Heaven's Wheel armor.

Also requipping Sea Empress Armors weapon for it's corresponding effects.

I'll be acting on my next turn to fly and then actively defend while I get a better gauge on what's going on in there (Generic fire, actual combat, bombs, ext.) and go from there, unless Katie's brother or Amy says they need more help or something happens to change the situation in a noticeable way before then.

"Yeah. And I'll...I'll...guard the civilians! Yeah! That's...that's totally a thing a superhero would do," Katie said, bobbing her head as if to convince herself that that was a meaningful contribution to her team's goals.

Thing was, she was concerned. Who knew what was up there? There could be a bomb or something.

Her head tilted to the side as she took a closer look at Lauren's powers. Katie was no mage, but information just poured into her head. One of the greatest strengths of the different armors is that several of them are invested with potent wards against a narrow spectrum of attacks. It lets her swap her suits to become immune to whatever element her opponent relies on - assuming she has a suit with the right wards. But if you layered some of those wards together, and bound them to the broad-spectrum enchantments on the Adamantine Armor...

Her eyes had started glowing silver, as had her hand as she reached out to clasp Lauren's shoulder, meeting her gaze. When she spoke, her voice carried a new resonance. "Neither flame nor shock nor gun nor bomb could harm you."

She blinked a couple times, the silver glow fading, and as if nothing had happened added in her normal cheerily unconcerned voice, "Let me know if you need any help!"

Using Power Augmentation on Lauren to grant her three separate instances of Immunity 5, providing immunity to Damage from Fire, Electricity, and Explosives, and granting Impervious Toughness 10.

The armor seethed light for an instant, reenforcing itself, taking on aspects of several different styles of armor at once. This actually made Lauren Blink for a moment in what would have been visible surprise if she'd not now had a full face peace.

"Thanks." You could hear she was caught off guard by this in her voice before she got herself back on track. "Will talk once this is sorted."

With that, she took to the sky, closing distance between the building and bracing for what she might find.

[roll0] Perception roll to see if I notice anything odd on the way up to the fire/when I get there/about the fire. Readying action to use the water blast to start working on the fire or to go for moving anyone I notice in the affected area's out.

And one thing she'll be listening for and count it as off if she doesn't hear is the sound of smoke alarms.

Leon and Lauren are greeted by the sight of a good deal of wreckage in what was probably once a small, enclosed conference or staff room judging by the debris, and while there is no one inside, their is a smaller but otherwise identical hole blown through the next interior wall leading into the building. It could almost be the textbook work of some demolitionist, were it not for the fact that clearly no one or nothing was evacuated first. Past the second whole in the wall there is a further scene of confusion, but it's difficult to make out much more from outside the building, though there are what appear to be at least one or two slumped figures reclined against the far wall surrounded by hastily erected pieces of cover.

Down on the ground, plenty of folks are now looking at Consul and Knight Errant, some members of the crowd even recognizing them and gasping in excitement, while security tries to maintain order. All at once, another tremor visibly rocks the building this time, and can be felt out on the green as well, with a few panes of glass shaking loose and shattering at the entranceway to the exhibition hall, but no one is harmed, now that evacuations are largely complete.

The continuing explosions were worrisome. Katie took a long, deep breath, mentally relaxing the constant flow of energy she kept running through her. She felt a sort of buzzing numbness in her head as knowledge of all present powers other than those of mutants suddenly faded from her mind. She set her hands on her belt, again aglow with silvery light, eyes narrowed in concentration. A ripple passed through the air, starting at the odd mechanical buckle on her belt and expanding over the crowd. Everyone it touched would feel a sort of comfortable coolness as a thin protective film settled over them. The defense was a couple orders of magnitude weaker than the forcefield that surrounded her own skin - but only because it covered an area a couple orders of magnitude larger.

Using Power Augmentation on myself. This disables the additional Senses that Katie keeps running by default, so her Detect now only applies to Mutant Powers.

The following power is added to her Forcefield Generator: Enhanced Toughness 6 (Burst Area 3, Affects Others Only). So basically everyone in 120' gets +6 Toughness, subject to PL limits.

Amelia Pryce, Magical Girl

During the large scale diversion of all this chaos Amelia had expected to have had Consul dote, in which case she had a dastardly plan to win him over, thankfully he didn't seem the least bit interested in her once she was safe so in the interim she'd dashed off to a nearby alley and become MAGICAL GIRL.

She emerged from the alley running on solid light hexagons that seemed to disappear quickly save whichever one she happened to be standing on at the time. Quickly she shot towards the other heroes and while keeping a little distance she was confident Consul wouldn't recognize her in her super hero identity. Drawing attention as best she could in the chaos as she approached she tried her best noble hero voice and shouted "Consul I believe we've met. I was nearby when I heard this ruckus. What is going on? What evil doer is the cause of this?"

Even by the standards of campy heroes she was laying it on pretty thick.

Leon Tynes, Consul

Leon clicked his tongue as he looked inside at damage, and spotted the slumped over people. "Looks like there might be some injured people, I don't know about you but I'm heading in there!" he says, and takes a quick glance to where he left Amelia and Amy, and felt a little sad that Amy was missing - she was going to miss his heroics for sure! Oh well, people's lives are definitely more important.

At that point, a familiar face arrived. "Ah, Magical Girl! Great timing! As you can see we have a bit of a situation, your help will be greatly appreciated." He says with a smirk.

Leon floats over to the hole and moves toward the bodies (?) slumped behind the cover. "My name is Consul, I'm here to help. How are you? Please tell me what happened here." he says in a calm, clear voice.

"Right, I'll try to make sure to get the rest of this under control while you do that."

Lauren began to work at the assorted places the fire was coming form a thick mist coming from the tips of the Trident, glancing over to the new arrival as she did.

"I don't know, help Consul with evacuating people. Once that's squared we should probably see about finding out."

I will be using a precise application of my damage power with the water descriptor with the blast portion to put down enough water to quell the smoke/heat/fire enough that it stops being dangerous. Once that's done if there's still evac to do I'll start with that, and once THAT's done, she's probably gonna be in favor of trying to get a fix on what happened.

Once inside, Knight Errant is quickly able to disperse the smoke and put out the remaining smolders with a few precise and concentrated bursts of conjured water from her trident. Consul meanwhile discovers that there are indeed a number of bodies lying on the ground, two of them lying entirely too still for comfort, while the third manages to cough and raise his arm for a split second before it collapses back down. In response to the interstellar hero's queries he manages another cough and the word, "Badge . . ." drawing Consul's attention to the ID tag on his blazer which marks him as a member of the security detail assigned to Arthur Conway.

Back on the ground, there is a sudden explosion outward from the nearest wall of the building and the crowd shrieks right up until Potence's expanded force field causes the smattering of debris to reflect harmlessly away. As the smoke clears there is the sound of sporadic gunfire, as a team of agents in dark suits provide covering fire as they exit the building through the hole, with a VIP in their midst. The crowd assembled begin to panic, trying to take cover or disperse, but are far enough away for the moment to be out of danger. As a trio of figures emerge from the building however, it appears the security detail is no so lucky, as an arc of electricity renders one of the guards unconscious, generated from the hands of a tall figure wearing what looks like a long gray labcoat over high-end black tactical gear. Next to him is another individual, who raises and fires a shocking volt which downs another agent, and from behind them both, a hulking mechanized behemoth standing a full head higher than either of them and painted in black & gray urban camouflage. The two roughly man-sized figures both where combination gas/ballistic masks which conceal their features. All three stand with utter impunity before the barrage of small arms fire, the security personnel apparently ill-equipped to deal with such a well protected threat.

Katie's eyes went wide as the obvious-superhumans came blasting out of the building.

GULP.

"Kyle...run!"

"You cannot seriously be thinking to-"

"RUN!" she yelled at him, before hopping onto her hoverboard and flying towards the fray.

"Hey! No fair using powers on normal humans!" she challenged the three, swooping in fast with her hand glowing bright silver, making a quick attack - more a distraction than anything - before flying back to get between them and the civilians and security officers.

She didn't have to win. The others must have heard the sounds of the explosions and gunfire. She just had to hold them off for long enough for them to join the battle.

Move Action: Fly into Close range of the attackers.

Standard Action: If I can Detect any Mutant Powers, I'll attack that target with Power Negation. Otherwise, I'll attack the left-most lightning guy with Power Imposition. In either case, I'm Defensive Attacking for 5. [roll0]; if he's a Mutant, Will or Power Rank vs. DC [roll1] or all his Mutant powers are Nullified until I cease sustaining. If not, Fortitude DC 16 vs. Impaired+Vulnerable/Disabled+Defenseless/Transformed+Controlled Affliction. or I can miss outright, that works too.

Move-by Action: Fly about equidistant between the attackers and the civilians/security guys.

Current Status: +5 Defense this turn.

"****! Not good!

"Magical Girl, get them to EMT's Stat and then get the civilians clear! Consul, new plan, Cover Potence and try to deal with those goons in the coats, I've got the Robot!"

She flew out of the office like a shot, tearing by as she flew lower and fast from behind the Robot, leveling the Trident at it and dropping a significant blast of water form above to make sure if she missed she didn't hit anything of value. She purposefully brought herself to a stop landing between the obvious threat and Potence and the Civilians and Security staff, weapon at the ready.

"REQUIP!" She Roared it as someone with no fear of Battle might, the Glow engulfing her right as her feet hit the ground, surrounding her with a scale mail of a somewhat ornate fashion, covering her completely save for her face, and the scales themselves fashioned to resemble lighting bolts and be in a gold color. "That was a warm up. If you don't give yourselves up now, you get to find out what full force feels like. And I've got a good bet you won't enjoy it." There was a cold, utterly unnerving indifference to her voice and her posture, she really didn't care if they just gave up now or if she had to hurt them, severely, to make them.

I'm gonna use my Burst Area on my Variable Weapons Arry to do a Precise Water Blast to just nail all of them. Damage 8.

And Then when I land I'm gonna Requip to Lighting Empress Armor.

Also, question, do I loose Potences buffs by changing Armors? Or do I keep them? I'm changing either way, just a curiosity.

Lastly, Intimidate check to try and make them throw in the towel now, with what ever circumstance bonus you think is fair for them knowing that I'm not the only super powered resistance there gonna face, and that I just gave them a pretty rough opening salvo. Or, barring making them give up, to try and screw there combat performance up as much as I can in the "I am to scared to function properly/think straight" vein.
