So for those who haven't heard, a new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie has been in the works for some time now.
"They", have finally gotten around to releasing a trailer for it.

I prefer to go into a film cold, not wanting to spoil it or come in with a preconceived notion of how good the film is already. But seeing as TMNT was a huge part of my childhood, this interests me somewhat.
So first initial impressions.
1) The turtles look somewhat disturbing, going for a realistic look on anthropomorphic animals (turtles, dogs etc) always looks disturbing to me, so I would prefer a cartoony look (I'm not a furry, just sayin').
2) Mikey looks to be a racist stereotype, I totally called it when I first heard about it, we're talking about a Michael bay movie after all.
3) Shredder looks over the top and ridiculous, possibly a good move, possibly not.
4) is that Casey Jones? that better be Casey Jones
5) not aliens, good move there!
Only a viewing of the movie will tell if it's going to be good. But it looks par for the course, overblown special effects, shakey cameras and bad camera angles, lots of eye candy and explosions, and a racially offensive stereotype.
