In The Quintessential Samurai how do i detemine amount of ki

Im making a samurai from The Quintessential Samurai ive read it twice and can't figure out how much ki I have and how to use it also if I may ask what teir is this samurai

the OGL version seems quite... shoddy
As far as I can tell seems tier 4-5...

On page 62 in the first paragraph under Using and Recovering Ki it states that the samurai's hit points are his ki.
