You have been contacted discreetly by a man titled General Dakovya, wishing to meet with you. You are now in the beginning of that meeting and General Dakovya has just asked you if you would be willing to go on a quest to save the nation and to make some coin on the side. How do you respond?

A halfling stands on his chair, the better to be seen. He is 0f fair size for his race, with bright eyes and fair complexion. His clothes appear of excellent make an fashionable style. Faint scars trace his skin. "Whatever needs to be done, I will be there."

"Count me in, mr. general."

Myr stroked a great silver hammer that was resting besides his chair with anticipation. A tall man, Mirrodin "Myr" Bones has silver hair, a muscular build and black eyes that never left the general face during the conversation. His clothes were grey and black and white, with little details and he was smiling.

Anders

Anders took a look around as a couple of people accepted the offer the General made. The rogue usually didn't take such risks as to meet with people he didn't exactly know, but he had a soft spot when it came to Andoran. Also gold. A major soft spot for gold.

"All right, I'm in. How dangerous could it be?"

Next to you guys you see a youngish looking human male, his age hard to pin down, somewhere between 25 and 39. He is wearing an artisan's outfit, but no tools in the apron.

Andras looks around quickly with his eyes before responding, noting weapons, peoples, and exits.

"Andoran has ever been a source of profit and entertainment General, do tell what the problem is."

In a dark corner of the room, a shadowy figure reclines on a chair, seemingly uninterested in the conversation at hand. Those able to see his face through the shadows would notice his pale skin and white hair seem almost to drain the light from around him.

At the chorus of assent from the others, the cloaked figure snorts derisively. "Typical. All of you 'patriots', jumping at the chance to serve your country without first learning what is required of us. I am more pragmatic. Do tell, dear General. What meat grinder would you have us stick our faces into in the name of freedom? And more importantly, how well shall we be paid for such?"

Anders

Anders gave a sly grin as he looked to the one who had chosen to find the only corner the torches didn't touch and so gracefully crowd himself into for the sake of looking more aloof. He took a drink from a wine skin at his hip and turned and listened to the man for a moment.

When he had finished he turned back to the General and smiled wide.

"Why yes General, I had almost forgotten to ask what sort of dangers we should face...I might have to soil myself and run for all my pragmatism"

He leaned back and his hands slipped behind his head as he turned an eye back to the shadow seeker.

"No offense meant of course, you're right to make sure it isn't something you couldn't handle."

After you all more or less agree, the General starts to speak to all of you,

Ah, of course, the details. As you may have heard, Baron Vendikon has recently turned traitor and is aiding the Chelish army by allowing them to enter the nation through the town of Piren's Bluff, which is on the border of Cheliax and Andoran. You goal is to gather information about the town and Baron, you will then use this information to sabotage their defenses if possible, and then bring the traitors days to an end.

There are no official help or aid that we can give you, but there are some unknown citizens in the town who are still loyal to Andoran, they have agreed to help you in your cause however they can. You will be able to recognize them by a sprig of mistletoe tied with a yellow ribbon.

You will be paid 2,500 gold now, with another 2,500 when you complete the mission. One of our citizen agents, Gaskar Drolp, a merchant, will escort you into the town under the disguise of you being his hired guards.

We would like for you to begin as soon as possible, so if you have any questions ask, and when we are done here you will hopefully be able to head straight to Piren's Bluff.

Myr couldn't help but smile at the mention of the baron's name. It was his lucky day, he would serve his faith, hs mission and get paid.

"Count me in twice, then. Vendikon will repent the day he betrayed Andoran and will pay the price."

With all those thrice damned unholy items he got in the bargain.

Uriah leans forward."Sounds like an attack is already planned. Might be important to time our actions; sabotage doesn't always last. How long do we have?"

The General turns to reply to Uriah,
We will be attacking the town's towers and walls to draw the guards from the streets and keep the attention off of the citizens inside the town. You will have until we break through the walls, which might take a few days, or until you get caught to complete the mission. If you are not able to complete the mission we will be forced to continue our assault on the town and the army will have to come in and apprehend the baron.

Anders

Hearing the plan Anders shrugged his shoulders.

"All right, so you want some people on the inside, try and do this as easy as possible. If the Baron is captured, their defenses sabotaged...the people won't suffer as much when you finally take the city. Cracking it without our help will be much more difficult...as well as dangerous. Especially for the common folk."

Uriah nods. "Good, no complicating timing or signals to be lost. Keeps it simple. Which isn't to say easy, of course, but less parts to get fouled in action. I am ready."

"Sneaking into a heavily fortified hostile city, and our diversion is a siege?! It seems to me that might complicate the process of gaining entry. What's our plan for getting in?"

As I said, one of our citizen operatives, a merchant called Gaskar Drolp, will enter the city with you disguised as his hired guards, he will do his business and leave, you will stay behind and start your work from there.

Anders

Grinning ear to ear, Anders turned and put his hands over his mouth to amplify his voice.

"You could probably hear better if you didn't favor sitting across the room in the corner my friend!"

"Sounds like we have everything worked out. Any special or bonus objectives while we are in the town other than sabotaging defenses and gathering information? And then bringing the traitors day to an end, does that mean you want the Baron eliminated after we have done these things? It seems if we were to rid him of his life first that would substantially sabotage the defenses. Also are there clever stewards or advisers that must be carefully looked out for?"

"I'll make everything in my power to make this mission swift and as painless as possible for the common folk and innocent. Cheliax is evil and will employ all kinds of hell spawns to do it's biddings... and demons and devils and their kin deserve worse than death for what they have done."

Myr gave an angry and sad look to the people around him. He could not see all of them very well, but none of them seemed to be very young, so they probably remember the last conflict with Cheliax, and he thanked Nethys for this, he wasn't sure if there were casters in this team, so he decided to keep quiet and just observe for now. He realized his muscles were all tense, so he remembered to relax and managed o calm down.

"Sorry, I'm not helping with this talk, am I? I'm just getting impatient, go on, explain everything my colleagues asked you and let us get going."

The General turns to reply to Andras,

It may be harder to get into the keep in the town without aid, as it is heavily guarded, you may be able to find help or alternative ways into the keep other than a mass attack on the keep. And, if you run into any defenses while you do this, it would be a help to impede them when you can. There are no advisers from Andoran with the Baron, but we do not know what help he has been given by the Cheliax. We also do not know the allegiance of the guards in the town, so please don't kill them unless they impede your attempts to neutralize the baron.

"Good to know. Are we ready then?" The halfling hops down, head barely reaching above the table, and begins to move for the door.

"Little one, surely you wouldn't work at the whim of a government official with complete and total strangers. Besides, the bags of shinny haven't even been brought up. Perhaps introductions are in order while we wait? I am Andras the Shadow. You may call me Andras if you wish, and calling me Andy will be a must in certain regions. What is your name little brave confident one?"

Uriah turns, drawing himself to his full (unimpressive) height. "Small one? I am Uriah Freeman, a mage of no small skill, master of summoning the celestial. And this operation is hardly the whim of some minor electee. As for the money, some of us have higher motives. We know what we need to about the mission and will have plenty of each others company. Now, I have what I need, do any of you need to make preparations after we finish introductions?"

Anders

Letting out a gentle sigh Anders watched and listened, more than ready to accept this task regardless of how many of these people decided to come along. He listened to the diminutive wizard and cracked a small grin.

"I'm ready to go at a moments notice...Names Anders..you can call me Anders..or maybe Ders..to avoid confusion from the other Andy. I'm sure our General friend here will get the pay all sorted out, so any of you who only do this for coin should be just fine..lets get ready, introduced and at the LEAST be willing to work together just for this job eh?"

"Name's Mirrodin Bones, but everyone calls me Myr. Nice to meet you guys, hope we can all work together. As soon as possible, preferably, general."

Myr hopped from the chair and pointed to the hammer in his hand.

"Oh, and this is Lucy. She's a heartbreaker, guys, so try not to get too close to her... Heh heh, sorry for the lame joke."

Myr laughed and went to wait by the door.
