I have been playing a lot more Pathfinder than 3.5 as of late, and as such, I ran across Affiliations again in the PHB II while I was making a character. They're obviously easily adapted for PF use, but...I want to get the GitP hivemind's opinion on some things before I do. (And really, less 'hivemind' and more 'potential pitfalls' and 'These things in particular work great.')
So with that in mind, my questions for folks, keeping in mind that I'll be using these for Pathfinder rather than 3.5. (With appropriate adaptations where need be, such as prestige classes granting extra ranks.)
How well do these work in a campaign that forgoes tricks like the Dark Chaos Shuffle?
Aside from Truenamers, are any of the listed affiliations particularly 'need to have' for any particular class?
Are there any homebrew affiliation lists that I could poke into?
Are there any particularly broken tricks available with Affiliations?
