The River of Time

A cold wind blows through the mountain peaks that the Masters of Ki call home. Each sensi informs his students that the river of time is changing. The steady stream flows ever downward, but faster now than before. The white peaks of the rapids will cover the heads of the unwise, and drown those who refuse to swim.
Magic, once elusive and mysterious, now is commonplace in the castles of the kings. They thirst for it's power, and are using whatever means necessary to get more. The kings wizards and wise men, accompanied by small armies, lead droves of settlers and miners into the hearts of the mountains in search of gold, diamonds, and precious magical gems. Their lust for the gems and the magical power they might offer threaten the peaceful ways of the monastery and surrounding villages. Something must be done...
