Errain is a young woman not long coming of age in her society, average of height and sleight of build her looks deceivingly hide her superior strength. Whilst a rather striking beauty herself, her practical sense of dress and active life style tends to have looks falling to a lesser priority, not that she doesn't care about her appearance, she just doesn't tend to go beyond making herself presentable and doesn't 'doll' herself up. Pale blonde hair that is practically white once placed under the light a hallmark of those of the Asthurian nation, and her amber eyes reveal the vast potential she has yet to harness for manipulating their signature element, Electricity.
Born and raised amongst the middle class, her parents ran an alchemical business to manufacturer goods for sale, creating artifacts and tools by mixing Alchemical knowledge and Asthurian talents. From a young age Errain has always exhibited an exceptional talent for destruction, her innate abilities to manipulate electricity were almost uncontrollable as a child and an outlet had to be found to channel those forces lest their home be reduced to a smouldering crater, fortunately for the Asthurians they had long been mastering their arts for combat and other offensive purposes, by channeling her energies and placing them under constant use through martial training Errain began to control her powers.
However there was one thing about Errain, she was competitive, and what started out as an exercise in control and restrain for her own benefit became an opportunity to push herself, to challenge herself, to hit her limits go beyond and exhaust herself. Every act become a moment to improve her technique, her strength and her will. Simple Kata turned into precise and deadly strikes that even impressed her mentors. Whilst Asthura has not been in an active war for a very long period of time, but that is not to say they did not have enemies. And whilst their military is more of a standing force purely for defense, having none to do battle with, the combination of their highly trained soldiers and a number of specialized alchemist and artificers made them a forced to be scared of. Unfortunately, the surrounding nations were scared, but they were not culled, and they banded together and launched a preemptive strike against what they though to be a nation building for war. To Errain, weather or not her country was preparing for war didn't matter, she leapt to the defense of her country gaining valuable combat experience in numerous skirmishes in the early days of the war.
To Errain and in fact most of Asthura, the tales of Aevum where so old, that if there was any truth to them no one was around to verify their claims, that is not to say no one believed. There where only two Flames of Glory which continued to burn in Asthura, one in the high temple from which the palace is build upon, its flame continues to burn at the peak of the tallest spire in the kingdom, the other was nearer to the outskirts of the kingdom, out in the Durias Plains, the site of an ancient battlefield, where now sits one of the largest garrisons built, the large inner grounds which surround the flame is used as training grounds where recruits can draw inspiration from is presence. It was here in the aftermath of an extended battle, the perimeter had been breached and the battle was reduced to infighting inside the fortress walls that the Flame of Glory lay claim to Errain, the last of her squadron standing, she claimed victory from the jaws of defeat and pushed back those who had lead the charged against her. Little did she know that this small victory paved the way for something potentially greater.
Personality
Errain is a serious and highly competitive individual, she is also fiercely loyal, both to her country and her friends. She doesn't like to take the slow path, and prefers to take the most direct option available at the time. That is not to say she is reckless and jumps into everything without a moments notice, it's just that indirect and fiddly approaches annoy her to no end, but if there is due reason to use them, then she will not complain (too much). She is not prone to hate, and generally slow to anger, deeming most things ignorable if they get too annoying, but once angered she is slow to calm and can carry grudges to the ends of the earth. Having being suddenly sent to Aevum, her immediate response will be to try and return home to resume the war effort, should this not prove possible, she will make the most of what the world has to offer her and use it to push her limits above and beyond anything she could reach back home.
Bahad
Bahad has been a constant companion to Errain since she was a child, her mentors often pitted her in mock combat with pokemon to train both the pokemon and herself, however her uncontrollable powers made holding back quite difficult and short of the ground types immune to her touch, basically all of her available training partners eventually refused to approach her, one however was different, a Makuhita. He was probably a bit on the small size compared to the rest of his species, but what he lacked in stature he made up in heart, he was just as if not even more determined than Errain was, every spar she won caused him to win two more as payback. Soon enough this relationship did not go unnoticed by her teachers, as sparing partners went they knew each others move in and out and when they worked together their actions were completely in sync, no bets were taken over who was going to be given him when their training was complete. Errain named him Bahad, an ancient Asthurian word synonymous with Determination or Force of Will.
Errain's homeland is the nation of Asthura, nestled along a flat stretch of coastline with a lone mountain rising out the surrounding plains, and it its at the base of this mountain the capital Astenbur lie. Frequent storms and wild weather is common for the region, but the surrounding plains are fertile land that regularly produce abundant harvests and the mountain is rife with unusual metals which Asthurian Artificers and Alchemist pride themselves on using to their full effects. Errain's set of gauntlets are an example of some of the fine craftsmanship which can be produced by their nation, both work in tandem with her powers of electricity, the larger one aiding the maximization of her outputs and redirecting any excess and wayward charges, the smaller works with affecting and repelling metals to deflect attacks while being sturdy enough to not buckle or bend against anything which might strike it.
By the large they are a warrior like culture, but intellectual pursuits are deemed just as worthy, above all they approve of people making the best of their talents and personal achievement is valued over any inherited status. Your family might help you get to where you might be, but unless you can do the job yourself and prove your fit for it, someone else will do the job for you. Martial Combat is something almost every Asthurian is trained in at some point, and they all universally have some degree of ability to manipulate electricity. How those talents are directed vary, but typically those with greater fine control go about using their talents to produce goods and crafts mixing their talents with Alchemical knowledge to produce unique tools and artifacts that cannot be replicated anywhere else and those with raw power get involved more heavily in the military.
Asthurian pokeballs, use apricots and line the interior and exterior with layers of leafed metal, which hardens and reinforces them as well as giving them a unique appearance, and allows them to be manipulated by Asthuian powers for those skilled enough
Asthura was once just a facet of a much larger empire, founded by a quartet of hero's who were have said to have returned from Aevum full of glory and untold powers not witnessed in this world before, united as friends they each founded cities and devoted themselves to teaching others of what they had learned and further honing the powers they gained. However no friendship lasts forever, as they aged and one of their number pasted away, the remaining 3 squabbled over who had the best claim. The outcome of who won and who killed who will change depending on which of the kingdoms one asks. To the Asthurians, Edaliass, the Hero of White Lighting took the rest in mortal combat, claiming victory but succumbing to his wounds afterwards. Generations of wars followed as students, friends and family of each of the hero's rose up to defeat the rest. The conflicts lasted until no side could battle no more and each returned to their kingdoms to raise them up to be greater than before. This is all ancient history to a present Asthurian, and war has never reached such a scale in any time in recorded history since, aside from the occasional border scuffle, that is until now...
