unfamiliar with familiars

I recently acquired my first familiar, a blink dog. It's awesome, but I don't know if I've built him properly.

Outside of the half hp, uses character bab, half hp, skills, etc. listed under the sorcerer class feature, do familiars receive anything bonus (feats, stats, additional skill points)?

Nope, they stay the same as the base creature, with all the 'familiar' stuff added on based on level.

You can cast spells on them and give them magic items to beef them up a bit though.
