ok guys, i am looking for one of my players.

they are playing an illumian cleric and illumians have a power that basicly acts like DMM (kreuhoon) i think, allowing turn or rebuke attempts to be spent instead of increasing levels. or at least it is similar enough that i allowed it to work exactly like that.

so this player wanted to play a party buffing cleric. she has 13 turn attempts (2 extra turnings, 14 cha), extend and persist, so she can persist 2 spells per day.
her domains are knowledge (cloistered), family and travel. and she traded for knowledge devotion.

the party consists of a warmage, a rogue or disciple of mym c'sil (factotum type) which will concentrate on combat, a "tyrion game of thrones type" so probably a bit of a diplomancer and i am going to suggest factotum with little combat, what looks to be either a barbarian going shock trooper or a warblade, and i am guessing by her past characters a bard or sneak rogue. though i might suggest beguiler.
so
warmage
combat specialist
OOC specialist
frontline dps/tank
sneaky type most likely

what 1st and second level spells are best to persist. either to increase one of the characters a lot over the day, or to buff the party all day as that is what she is going for.

any minor alterations to the character can be done, but most of it is stone. like domains could be altered if need be.

also the player is reasonably new. so item creation is not a thing yet. i'm mainly looking for good spells to persist.

Well, Lesser Vigor is fast healing 1, which would make the front-liner need no other healing outside of emergency in-combat for the day.

Divine Favor is +1 to hit and damage for you, and will stack with just about every other buff spell that could add such things. Prayer might be even better, since it's +1 to you and your allies and applies to saves and skill checks as well as attack/damage rolls. (Divine Favor scales to +2 at level 6, and +3 at level 9, though, so is better if you only need to buff yourself.) The Prayer's negative effects on foes won't happen to those that aren't around when you cast it, though, since its AoE is a Burst.

Bless and Prayer stack, too. Bless provides a +1 morale bonus to hit and to saves vs. fear.

Any of the +4 enhancement-bonus-to-stat spells is useful. The Wisdom one could arguably get you bonus spell slots if cast the day before.

If you're evil, Consumptive Field is scary. Anything that drops below 0 hp dies and gives you +1 CL and +2 Str, with no upper limit, which lasts until the spell is over (which, if you persist it...).

Spiritual Weapon isn't terrible to have around all day. One more attacker.

a few of these are too high for now but good ideas for later. and i did mention lesser vigor and buffs like +4 to x. will have to just go with +1 to hit and fear saves for now.

Divine Favor is a great one, and will be for a long time. Especially if you can boost the caster level. Personal though, and I'm not sure a low level Cloistered Cleric is looking to melee, especially if they didn't trade Knowledge Domain for Knowledge Devotion feat.

Most of the good personal and party-wide DMM buffs are 3rd-5th level spells. Until you can get to them, I'd recommend Divine Favor (already mentioned) and Elation (+2 Str/Dex and +5 ft/rd movement, whole party).

she doesn't want to melee. only buff, though melee is a last resort and she has knowledge devotion as i said. she traded for it.

she is looking to play a party buffer. so elation looks good, as well as lesser vigor, bless would work too if she wants to buff as much melee as possible. after receiving both of those she will melee about as good as a normal cleric with knowledge devotion too. (i will allow elation to affect her too).

that is until she reaches lvl 5 and gets better persist buffs.

yes yes the cheese-omiser's out there will be tearing their hair out at a DMM cleric that is not trying to be a melee monster. but i am running a reasonably low op game, and i was only letting very high op choices for anyone who wanted a back seat, as a debuffer or a buffer.

Prayer and Bless will effect the entire party.

prayer is still a little out of reach for level 3. otherwise it would be the spell of choice.

:smalleek: You're right. I was thinking it was a 2nd level spell, for some reason. My bad.
