Suppose there is no binding contract/divine interposition preventing a deity from manifesting on the physical plane
How much damage would the physical form of a deity (in its lesser, intermediate and greater forms) deal upon the surrounding environs within the mortal coil before it is rendered down to its base atoms and forced to reconstitute within its divine realm?
This is assuming, of course, an evil god of conflict (strife or similar portfolios)

Assume that there is a singular deity loose

As much as the DM wants. If he's trying to play by "the rules..." there aren't any. That said, it would likely depend on the god's intentions and domain powers. Is he more about wanton destruction and strife or more about tactics, war and attrition? Gragorath the Supreme Eviscerator is likely to do more damage on his arrival than the Five Star General of Hell, for instance.

This.

It also depends on your setting. If you're playing Mythender or something like that, the PCs can probably put him down before he causes too much trouble. If you're playing Call of Cthulhu, then all things sane and wholesome are pretty much boned.

Let's assume a statted deity, much like the ones given to us in Faiths and Pantheons.
Say, for example, Cyric completely loses his mind and manifests physically upon the prime material - inciting strife and all other aspects of his portfolio within us mortal chattel.
What happens? Who'll resist if such resistance can be mustered

What game is this for? The thread's in the general roleplaying forum, and doesn't specify. That leaves open a ridiculously wide variety of potential results, depending on what exactly is being pulled from. If "deity" in this context means an entity connected with some very small thing (a shrine, or a small river, or even a small forest) that probably exists alongside ancestor spirits, their physical manifestation won't necessarily mean much. The god associated with a particular battle, or battlefield, or sacred weapon, or whatever could be similar. On the other hand, if you've got something pulled from a more Cthulhu mythos vein, then presumably it's carnage all around.

Yeah, probably should've specified; assume Pathfinder or any iteration of D&D (I'll edit)

And let's assume greater aspected entity (lesser god or higher on the pantheon scale)

Okay, under those assumptions, barring the direct intervention of other deities, epic casters, DM fiat, and the like, said god will be more or less unstoppable; he'll kill absolutely everything except for perhaps high-level characters with teleportation abilities, and even then only if he doesn't bar teleportation by his very nature.

A 16th level sorcerer/incantatrix will walk up and vaporize the god within the first couple rounds of its existence. A wizard will then take a piece of its body, make an ice assassin, and absorb its divinity. The wizard will then use his newfound godhood to keep other gods from coming onto the prime again.

Seriously, this is 3.5 we're talking about. Bigger numbers just equal a bigger bundle of xp.
