In my campaign everyone voted that we want to go epic when we get to that point(Kinda close too). Everyone agrees though, epic spells need to be out of the picture to keep some measure of balance.

Does anyone know of an epic spell level progression variant??

And, please don't turn this into a debate about the brokenness/un-brokenness of epic spells.

Thanks,
~Blood

You could just extrapolate a progression of spell slots through level 10 and beyond, so they could apply metamagic to higher level spells.
Still not hot for the Sorcerer, though.

Real easy to nerf Epic spellcasting to something level appropriet:

Development costs and time are based on pre-mitigation DC (same way as the Permanent modification). So you can take 100 9th level donated spell slots to mitigate a base spellcraft DC of 1700 to 0 ... but it still costs 612,000 xp, 15,300,000 gp, and 306 days to research.

That kills roughly 95% of the cheese with Epic spells.

Just, uh, nobody take Epic Spellcasting?

The DM has to approve all epic spells anyway, so any cheesy spells can be denied. And you can limit them to researching epic spells already printed in books (or created by the DM) - again, all individually approved by the DM.

... we just had this thread a week or two ago.
