I remembered playing a few of the free original adventures on the WotC website and I wanted to run a few for my group. But I can't find them. Maybe my Google-fu is weak and one of you playgrounders could help me out?

I can get to this page (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/downloads), but I can't get to the actual adventures page. When you clock the link for adventures it goes to a page that says "This article or feature is not yet live. Redirecting you to the Dungeons and Dragons homepage." before immediately taking you yo the homepage.

It seems like the adventures have been fully removed. I know that you used to be able to still download them, even after they removes the direct links to get to the page. But it seems that is no longer possible. Though the other sections on that page still seem active, except the Older Edition Downloads.

Edit: I tried searching with the name of a specific adventure (Something Cooking), and managed to find its download page. (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/oa/20010413a) However, when you do to download it, you get a "Page cannot be found" error. So the old adventures are gone.

I tried the exact same things as you and had nearly given up hope until I found this helpful site which takes us back in time somehow. Kudos to the people who make it and to the blog which introduced it to me. For other people who might be looking for the adventures in the future, here they are. Either they took them down completely, or something, because the wayback machine cannot display the adventures, and the 3.5 archive on the WotC site throws me a 404 when I try to download an adventure.

So, a search for some of the adventure names turned this up: http://www.albinjohnson.com/d&d/resources/downloaded%20adventures/

Most of the adventures appear to be there.

Back when the 5e site launched there was a massive thread trying to archive all the old content.
this was the result:
