I'm building a Wizard and I need some advice on specialization and finishing out the build. I've got the first fifteen levels planned out except for my choice of specialization. This is going to be a mid-op Planescape campaign.

Currently I'm trying to decide between Abyssal Specialist (I've got the aligned caster ACF from Dragon Magazine so all of my spells are [chaotic]) or going domain wizard. Which do people recommend?

The other question is what to do for the last five levels without needing too many prerequisite feats. Any ideas on prestige classes?

I would suggest you'd be a Conjurer so you can get Abrupt Jaunt. It's completely OP at lower levels, and still good later on. Some people like transmutation, but if you're going that route I think you're better off as a Domain Wizard and picking some transmutation domain as you don't gain THAT much by specializing.

If you're really only between Abyssal Spec and Domain, I'd say Domain Wizard.

For the last 5 levels, Fatespinner has almost no prerequisite and is really good.

for the last five levels I'd agree with heavy fuel on fate spinner. If you have a spare feat a level in mind-bender and mind-sight are useful for about any wizard.

Fatespinner is only a 4 level class though.

It requires a few feats, but archmage is always a good pick for a wizard. Especially blaster types but not exclusive to them.

Paragnostic Apostle in CC is generally my go-to for a last-five-levels class with little to no prerequisites. It's still extremely good for only a few levels.

If you don't ban Enchantment and aren't good aligned, then a single level of Mindbender in CA is absurd, especially if you take Mindsight from LoM.

Divine Oracle in CD is excellent for a four-level dip, considering you don't need to spend a feat on its prerequisite if you visit the Frog God's Fane detailed in Complete Scoundrel.

Ruathar in RotW is a good three-level class that has some decent benefits.

Master Specialist in CM can be pretty good for four levels depending on your specialization, and it only requires Spell Focus in your specialized school which you'll often have anyway.

Thanks for the advice, I'll definitely look at some of the classes you've mentioned. However, I will be doing either abyss specialist (for thematic flavor) or domain wizard (so that I don't need to ban a school). I'm going for a fiendish flavor for my character, Tiefling with abyssal heritor feats.

I would recommend Domain wizard(transmutation)

Also a level of Ruathar to pick up some skills, then a two-level dip into Unseen Seer to pick up the Hunter's Eye spell can be fun, but it's hardly optimal
