View Full Version : Good Feats for a Wizard/Swiftblade/Abjurant Champion

I'm looking for some good feats for the build mentioned in the title. I'm being a generalist, but I may play a transmuter, and any other specialist clashes with the Swiftblade's special requirement (which always makes me chuckle and is the main reason why I'm choosing this PRC). We haven't started yet, and we're starting at level 6. I'm playing a snow elf for the racial substation levels without the CON penalty, and I'm taking the fighter bonus feat ACF to get Dodge and Mobility as bonus feats. So far, my feats are looking like:

Flaw - ??? (we are only allowed one)

Level 1 - Combat Casting (for Abjurant Champion, might shift this to level 9), Dodge (bonus), ???

Level 3 - Power Attack

Level 5 - Mobility (bonus)

Level 6 - Spring Attack (so I can take Arcane Strike next level)

Basically anything other than Dragon Magazine and the material banned in Test of Spite (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?113644-Test-of-Spite-D-amp-D-3-5) is allowed.

As of right now, I'm considering Ocular Spell for quick buffing.

Also, another question: are there any races that are like anthropomorphic hedgehogs? (No actual anthropomorphic animals from Savage Species because their LA is just wrong.) Playing Sonic would be pretty funny.

I might suggest somehow getting ranks in Hide and Move Silently (perhaps dipping something like Ranger or Scout and taking Guerrilla Scout/Warrior) and taking Darkstalker. At higher levels, the Swiftblade's concealment allows you to Hide in Plain Sight if you have that ability somehow, like if you buy the Collar of Umbral Metamorphosis to become a Dark Creature.

Also, get Expeditious Dodge instead of regular Dodge. It's just better.

I'll agree that Expeditious Dodge or even Midnight Dodge would be better than Dodge, unless you plan on getting Elusive Target.

The Minor Shapeshift reserve feat in CM for temporary HP is a standard gish choice.

I don't see how you're getting Spring Attack at 6th level. It looks like you're going Wizard 6 into Swiftblade, so you won't have the +4 BAB prerequisite for it at 6th. It requires the same BAB as Arcane Strike!

Be sure to get Practiced Spellcaster. You can apply it after Abjurant Champion switches your caster level to your BAB.
