So I've been reading about Polymorph (Sucks that you don't gain the Su abilities. But oh well) and the Soul Demn from Dungeon #139. In that magazine, the Soul Demon specifies:

Eldritch Blast (Sp): A Soul Demon can channel a ray of energy into an eldritch blast as if it were a warlock of level equal to its Hit Dice.

Now lets say you're a Warlock & Arcane Caster. If you were to Polymorph yourself into this creature, would the combined levels of its HD and your Warlock levels determine your Eldritch Blast? Or would this not work?

It does not work that way:

It also gains all extraordinary special attacks possessed by the form but does not gain the extraordinary special qualities possessed by the new form or any supernatural or spell-like abilities.

Ahh, damnit. Polymorph isn't as fun as I thought it'd be without becoming something like a hydra and just ripping enemies apart. Oh well.

Oh there still are nice utility functions like flying or burrowing.

If you're willing to try psionics, Metamorphosis (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/psionic/powers/metamorphosis.htm) + Metamorphic Transfer (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/psionic/psionicFeats.htm#metamorphicTransfer) gets you supernatural abilities from the target.

Technically, Shapechange will give you (Su) abilities. Similarly, the Assume Supernatural Ability feat (Savage Species) gives you (Su) abilities.

But neither, by RAW, gives you (Sp). (Unless gaining (Su) also grants (Sp)? I don't know.)

No Supernatural and Spell-like abilities are totally distinct.
