Is there some way to get the weapon back sooner than the start of my next turn? I'm looking far a way to use the same thrown weapon for multiple attacks of opportunity (along a spinning sword / karisagama to actually threaten) though if iterative attacks could be made that would be a bonus.

That's the realm of the bloodstorm blade from tome of battle. It doesn't actually get maneuvers itself so it could easily be adapted for an non-ToB game if you can convince your DM.

Edit: If you aren't familiar bloodstorm blade is a prestige class, not an item.

Bloodstorm Blade was already mentioned and I believe there's also the Psychic Warrior/Kineticist power 'Telekinetic Boomerang' from Complete Psionic. It's a 3rd level power though so it's not something a non-psionic build can just grab.

If you'd rather spend money than levels, Pathfinder has the Blinkback Belt (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/magic-items/wondrous-items/wondrous-items/a-b/belt-blink-back).

It also has the Snap Shot (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/feats/combat-feats/snap-shot-combat) feat, and its slightly-more-useful big brother (www.d20pfsrd.com/feats/combat-feats/improved-snap-shot-combat).

...Or would that be 'little brother,' since it gets born later? :smallfrown:

Anyway, I would consider a holstered thrown weapon 'wielded' for the purposes of those feats if you had Quick Draw, personally. It strikes me as mechanically on-part with firing more than one arrow in a turn if you have Combat Reflexes, as mentioned in the first feat's sidebar.

Well, you could use a beefed up cursed sword, perhaps pairing it with the Quick Draw feat.
