I'm looking for a playable race (LA+1/+0) that has a natural attack (claws, to be precise.)

I don't seem to get the cake, tho. Help?

None at +0 that I can think of, and it's not a race, but the Draconic Creature template is +1 and has claws, a +2 to Str, Con, and Cha, +4 to saves against sleep and paralysis, 60' of Darkvision (with low-light vision out to wherever), +2 to Intimidate and Spot checks, and +1 Natural Armor. All in all, a solid template.

Gotta check it, thanks.

O: Will check that out, source?

The web enhancement kobold (http://archive.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/we/20060420a) works pretty well for this, with claws along with the nifty slight build ability.

I believe Warforged have a natural Slam attack.

Tibbits gain claw and bite attacks in cat form.

I wouldn't be surprised if there's a shifter who can gain them.

Kenku (MM3) have claws. But if you have the dragonblood subtype, claws are easy to add with Shape Soulmeld: Claws of the Wyrm (Dragon Magic).

Darfellen (Stormwrack) have a bite.

Minotaur (Dragonlance) have a gore.

Shifters can get natural claw attacks, granted thats only when shifted but it works.

Anthropomorphic Animals (Savage Species) have any natural weapons the base creature has. Several are LA +0. For example, an Anthropomorphic Raven is a small LA +0 race with natural claw attacks and a flight speed. (It does, however, have substantial penalties to Str and Cha.)

Long tooth and razorclaws both get them.

How about human with Shape Soulmeld?

Skarns from MoI (+2 Str, -2 Dex) get a spine attack at 1st level.

Warforged start with a slam, and can also add a second slam and a bite via feats.

I like poison dusk lizardfolk for la+1 you get
Small but no penaty to STR or speed
+2 Dex and +2 con for a -2 charisma hit.
3 natural attacks(2 claws 1 bite)
Poison use for free
+3 natural armor
+5 more to hide checks

Jaebrin are LA +1 and have a bite which only deals 1d3 but imposes a penalty on will saves.

From memory, the beguiler has lA +0 (cohort), meaning it's not intended as a PC race.

LA+1:
Bladeling (MM2): claw
Diabolous (Dragon Compendium): tail
Jaebrin (MM5): bite
Poison Dusk Lizardfolk (MM3): claws & bite
Wildren (PLanar Handbook): claws

Nope. Just low light vision, +2 to stealth and +2 to saving throws against poison/disease.

Which makes them possibly the worst LA0 race in the entire game.

Half-orc begs to differ! :smalltongue: True, they get Darkvision (instead of low light), but take a net -2 to ability scores. Nezumi also get a limited version of scent...

Druids look upon the horror that is the half-orc, and say, "Nah, this race is awesome."

Don't Nezumi have a 40 ft. speed?

Actually, very good point. Definitely better than Half-orc for most builds, then.

Re-reading them, they have a very poorly worded ability that may be natural weapons, or some kind of Improved Unarmed Strike:

A ratling's sharp claws and teeth deal 1d4 points of normal damage with a successful unarmed strike . A ratling can make only one unarmed attack per round, using either claw or a bite attack.

It's monster entry (p.178) makes no mention of natural weapons.
