Say if I have a wiz 3/ cleric 3/ MThr 1/ geomancer 1, do i get to use the mystic theurge's spellcasting progression?

Short answer is no, it doesn't count.

It progresses other classes spellcasting, it does not have its own progression.

Yeah, I'm afraid you need PrCs like Suel Archanamach, Sublime Chord, Beholder Mage, or Ur-Priest for it to count as its own spellcasting progression.
