A bone nights mount is undead, which normallly has poor bab, fort, and reflex saves, with good will saves.

However a Bone Knights Mount uses the same rules as a Paladins mount, which gives bonus d8 hit die, with average bab, good fort and reflex, and poor will.

Should a Bone Knights mount have d12 hit die(because the undead type always changes hit die to d12s) average bab, good fort and good reflex, and poor will.

Or should it have some other combination?

Well, I think the Bone Knight's mount would gain bonus d12 hit dice rather than d8 hit dice, would keep the poor BAB, but would (just like a normal Paladin's mount) determine its base saves by taking either its master's or its own base save, whichever was better for, for each save type.

By a very strict reading, it should be a combination:

By virtue of the undead type, the base HD of the Heavy Warhorse (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/monsters/horse.htm) become d12s, but it looses its the +12 from its Con.
The bonus Hit Die that it gets from Paladin the paladin mount specials are not equivalent to Hit Die gained through advancement. They are the product of a special ability that explicitly grants d8s.

This does not, however, match the calculations for the sample character: the HP of the sample steed (8HD) is given as 52 - the average result of 8d12.
