View Full Version : timeline compilation?

Is there any special reason there's no index thread for a timeline? Besides that no one has felt the desire to create one?

I wanted to know how long it was between the time Celia is summoned by Haley with the breaking of the talisman and when they reached Girard's gate. Based on different data, I came up with either 2 to 3 months or 6 to 7 months. But neither estimate was very robust and the correct interval is probably somewhere in between. But if there was a timeline thread, I wouldn't need to make an estimate.

I'd compile the timeline, but I'm sure there are people out there with most of the clues already collected. So anyone up to do it?

There was one here (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?35936-The-Order-of-the-Stick-Un-Official-Timeline!-Origin-of-PCs-Spoilers), though it's rather out of date at this point and doesn't contain much detail w.r.t the events of the comic itself (also, On the Origin of the PCs Spoilers within). The OOTS Wiki also has one here (http://oots.wikia.com/wiki/Timeline), which has spoilers for all the prequel books and is pretty good. It ends around the time the Order goes into Windy Canyon, though. I don't believe anyone has done much beyond that.

Actually somebody, somewhere, on this forum has a day-to-day timeline from when Roy said Belkar had x months left until present day, too determine when he will die.

This (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?361715-Countdown-to-Belkar-s-Death-Scene) is what you're thinking of.

I agree that one is pretty good and I see they had the same problem I had. That is, there seems to be a big gap somewhere between Celia being summoned and the Greysky city events:

There must be a delay between summoning Celia and the peace conference. We'll have to work backwards from comic 702, which somehow gives us a massive five month gap!

That's pretty ridiculous, but what else can be done? Time warp? Abducted by space aliens for 5 months?

That's a me-a!

I just haven't updated it since ... I can't tell if we've had another day or not.

Thanks for linking ti! I was going to hunt it down in another day or two, I figure we might be coming up on another "how many days has it been" revealing strip soon.

Hasn't it been two days since the end of the last day? The HPOH needs to feed every day. During the really long day, he fed on the Belkar. The day after, he fed on Roy (offscreen) before feeding on Elan "today" ( http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0958.html). And when talking to Durkon, the HPOH refers to the immediate aftermath of his vampirization as "three days ago." (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0948.html)

Wow, amazing job finding a thread that hasn't been updated in a month. Unless you had it bookmarked, of course.

Wow, amazing job keeping up with this. While it surely means you have WAY too much time on your hands, your fellow nerds like me are in awe.

I covered those under:

Day 23 - Strip 952 (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0952.html) Captain Bandana: "Damn it! Three days in command, and I've already wrecked the ship."

Since that was during the thunderstorm and we haven't moved beyond that day that I can see... we're still at Day 23+n.

It mostly took me one pair of 4 hour shifts over a weekend.

At this point it'll take like 5 minutes when we have a clear "new day" comic.... also it was bugging me that the Belkar's Gonna Die Day might sneak up on me and I wouldn't have the party streamers, balloon drop, and cake ready.

Aha! Sorry, I was in a spot with like zip Internet connection and couldn't check the most recent version, so I assumed from your comment - incorrectly, it seems.

Thanks. I have a very neat organization system for my thread subscriptions. The timeline was filed under "Belkar", and since there aren't many threads there, it didn't take long to find. This (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?325683-OoTS-timeline) attempted timeline, filed under "Dead" took me longer, but not much.
