A half-minotaur goliath, trained as both duskblade and archivist, carries a crescent knife massive enough to act as a bat'leth in his mighty hands.

What to call him...

Dirk Redhat, because why should a name have anything to do with looks?

I'd pick a goliath male name and add taur on the end of it
like Gauthaktaur

Benjamin, heheh.

But, more seriously...

Gaither

Bronx (honestly, came up with this before all the NYC jokes came pouring into my head)

Tarreus ("e" pronounced like long "a")

Har'Thonax, Shear of Titans

Lofgarian

Anthar

Any other hints about origin or personality

Also, goliath background is a decent premise for several names, each awarded after coming of age/ritual of X/significant battle Y.

Lol, hehe, Horned Blade, son of She Who Runs with Bull, bearer of This Is a Knoife

He feels misplaced in the company of other goliaths. Alienated, even.

Lost Tradition keys his casting, on both classes having taken it twice, to strength rather than his mental stats.

He is by no means stupid, nor a fool.

His home has been a decrepit temple of some martial god long dead.
