Ever since I started with Pathfinder, I've always really liked the Aldori Dueling Sword as a concept. Even though it's gotten plenty of "support" through the years, as far as exotic weapons go, it's always been pretty apparent that both the dueling sword and the swordlords who used them were woefully inept at their job. (Heck, over half of the Swordlord PrC's class features can be replaced entirely with common items...) Once the ACG came out and I got a look at the Swashbuckler and Slashing Grace, however, the idea for an actually competent Aldori Swordlord came into being. As a result, I whipped up a quick archetype for Brevic swashbucklers looking to add a bit of exotic flair to their dueling.

While many swashbucklers favor the rapier as their weapon of choice, a select few favor the elegant cuts of an Aldori Dueling Sword. Hailing mostly from the Rostland region of Brevoy, these duelists combine razor sharp skill with intimidating technique.
Weapon and Armor Proficiency: An Aldori Duelist loses her proficiency with bucklers, but gains proficiency with the Aldori Dueling Sword Exotic Weapon. This modifies the swashbuckler’s weapon and armor proficiency.
Panache: Unlike other swashbucklers, an Aldori Duelist regains panache only when she confirms a critical hit or makes a killing blow with an Aldori dueling sword or longsword. This ability alters panache.
Aldori Finesse: At 1st level, an Aldori Duelist gains the benefits of the swashbuckler’s finesse class ability only when wielding an Aldori dueling sword or longsword, and treats these weapons as one-handed piercing weapons for the purposes of all swashbuckler class features and deeds. This ability alters swashbuckler’s finesse.
Deeds: An Aldori Duelist gains the following Deeds, each of which replaces an existing deed.
Bravado (Ex): At 1st level, an Aldori duelist can spend one panache point when she makes an Acrobatics, Bluff, Climb, Intimidate, Fly, or Swim check to roll 1d6 and add that result to the check. She can do this after she makes the check but before the result is revealed. If the result of the d6 roll is a natural 6, she rolls another d6 and adds it to the check. She can continue to do this as long as she rolls natural 6s, up to a number of times equal to her Charisma modifier (minimum 1). This deed replaces Derring-Do.
Versatile Strikes (Ex): At 3rd level, while she has at least one panache point, an Aldori duelist gains the ability to strike with power and precision with her dueling sword or longsword, adding her swashbuckler level to damage. While wielding an Aldori dueling sword or longsword in both hands, this bonus increases to one and one half times the swashbuckler’s level. Any creature that is immune to sneak attacks is immune to the additional damage granted by versatile strikes, and any item or ability that grants protection from critical hits also protects a creature from the additional damage of a versatile strike. This additional damage is precision damage, and is not multiplied on a critical hit. This ability replaces the swashbuckler’s precise strike.
Duelist Weapon Training: At 5th level, an Aldori duelist gains a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls with Aldori dueling swords and longswords. While wielding such a weapon, she gains the benefits of the Improved Critical feat, as well as treating the critical threat range of these weapons as one higher. This effect stacks with Improved Critical. These attack and damage bonuses increase by 1 for every 4 levels beyond 5th (to a maximum of +4 at 17th). This ability replaces swashbuckler weapon training.
Duelist Weapon Mastery: At 20th level, when an Aldori duelist threatens a critical with an Aldori dueling sword or longsword, that critical is automatically confirmed. Additionally, the critical modifiers of such weapons increase by 1. (x2 becomes x3, and so on). This ability replaces swashbuckler weapon mastery.
