Looking for "unusual" spells for an eccentric caster.

Hello,
As the title states I am looking for some rather unusual spells. I guess what I would consider unusual would be spells like Vomit Twin or Pup Shape. I was hoping some of you had some straight up suggestions without me painstakingly going through the whole spell list. I understand unusual is subjective but I am willing to look at any considerations. The caster I am making will have some normal staple spells but I wanted him to be the type of caster that experiments with unusual spells.

Race is currently undecided but I have been looking towards Arcanist

And a classic Confusion

Don't see how you fit all of those into one encounter without raising a few eyebrows.
