Basically, the intention here is an evil skald; one side is Savage Bard 8/Ur-priest 2/Sublime Chord 1/Mindbender 1/Fochlucan Lyrist 8, the other side is undecided. That side of the build, without aid from the other, has 10th lvl casting for Ur-priest, 10th lvl casting for Sublime Chord, and 8th lvl casting for Bard, so it's not out of the question to advance the bard casting via gish stuff.

What ideas do you all have? I'm looking for options and explanations of how they help the build. LA is going on this side, so races/templates are welcome. Thanks in advance!

LA +8/ Bard 12? It's going to be difficult to find worthwhile classes to put over there, unless you've got a house rule that says you can combine two prestige classes on the same character level.

Consider a variant Half-Fiend (http://archive.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/we/20060630a) for +4 LA, Phrenic Creature (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/psionic/monsters/phrenicCreature.htm) for +2 LA, and either Shadow Creature (LoM) or Half-Fey (http://archive.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/sp/20040213a) for +2 LA. Use a base creature that can take the feat Magic in the Blood, so all your racial spell-like abilities including those from templates (Phrenic's are even labeled Sp) that are normally only available 1/day will be usable 3/day instead.

I'm a fan of warblade or crusader with song of the white raven in gestalt bard builds

Double prestige is allowed. Bring on the ideas!

Double prestige is allowed. Bring on the ideas!

1. Savage Bard 1// Fast Movement Ranger (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/variant/classes/variantCharacterClasses.htm#ranger) 1
2. Savage Bard 2// Cloistered Cleric 1 (no spellcasting, Rebuke Dragons, Planning, Undeath, Knowledge Devotion)
3. Savage Bard 3// Cobra Strike (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/variant/classes/variantCharacterClasses.htm#monkVariantFightingSty les) Chaos Monk 1 (get Ascetic Mage)
4. Savage Bard 4// Cobra Strike Chaos Monk 2
5. Savage Bard 5// Fighter 1
6. Savage Bard 6// Fighter 2
7. Savage Bard 7// Arcane Duelist (http://archive.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/re/20030224a) 1
8. Savage Bard 8// Arcane Duelist 2
9. Ur-Priest 1// Blackguard 1 (no spellcasting)
10. Ur-Priest 2// Spelldancer 1
11. Subline Chord 1// Blackguard 2
12. Mindbender 1// Blackguard 3 (Command Undead =/= Rebuke Undead granted by Ur-Priest, separate effective level, separate pools of uses, separate applications of Extra Turning and similar)
13. Fochlucan Lyrist 1// Mystic Wanderer 1
14. Fochlucan Lyrist 2// Paragnostic Apostle 1
15. Fochlucan Lyrist 3// Paragnostic Apostle 2
16. Fochlucan Lyrist 4// Abjurant Champion 1
17. Fochlucan Lyrist 5// Abjurant Champion 2
18. Fochlucan Lyrist 6// Abjurant Champion 3
19. Fochlucan Lyrist 7// Abjurant Champion 4
20. Fochlucan Lyrist 8// Abjurant Champion 5

Use Spelldancer to persist a nigh-unlimited number of spells, DMM can be used with Quicken Spell, Chain Spell (Destruction!), and other metamagics instead of Persistent. You have three separate class features that can power divine feats (Rebuke Dragons, Rebuke Undead, Command Undead), each of which has its own pool of uses and each of which benefits from Extra Turning, a Reliquary Holy Symbol, Night Sticks, etc. You'll be adding your Cha bonus to your AC via Monk with Ascetic Mage, Arcane Duelist, and Mystic Wanderer. You'll also add your Cha bonus to saves from Blackguard. Sadly you cannot Spelldance evocations, which is what Sirine's Grace happens to be for some reason.

Incarnate. Incarnum is awesome in gestalt. It gives you loads of extra utility that you can change from day to day, and for arcane casters, you can take Obtain Familiar and Share Soulmeld and break the action economy. (If you want to go over the top, you can also use the animal companion Bard variant and take a two-level dip in Prestige Paladin for even more abuse--Share Soulmeld works for all of them.) Also, it gives you Evasion (through Impulse Boots) which you need in order to qualify for Fochlucan Lyrist.

And I am glad to know you exist.

Marshal 1/Incarnate X/Binder Y. I assume you're at least somewhat Cha-focused, so Motivate Dexterity means you and your allies will usually be going first, and Incarnate and Binder give you a pile of mostly passive effects since you already have plenty of active ones from your casting classes.

Savage ghost progression might be interesting to through on a bard build. That plus marshal and binder and that could be amusing.

Vampire + Vampire Lord combo could also be pretty effective depending how you want to play the character.
