So I've been sifting through the D&D wiki and i came upon a variant rule for psionics called "The Gift" Unfortunately it does not give what book this variant rule is in and while i will continue to scour through my books i was hoping that one of you might be able to help me out ^-^

D&D Wiki is full of misleading information. "The Gift" does not exist in any book.
Try using the System Reference Document(http://www.d20srd.org/index.htm) instead when you are sifting. The d20SRD is 100% accurate.

First off, there are like 8 D&D wikis, which one?
Assuming its this one: http://www.dandwiki.com/wiki/The_Gift:_an_Alternative_to_%22Psionics%22_(3.5e_V ariant_Rule)
It doesn't exist in a book. Its just a variant that someone made up. Though now I kind of want to read through it and see how badly written it was.

D&D wiki is infamous for not labelling homebrew. This variant rule is homebrew, it doesn't exist in any official book.

Isn't that a homebrew variant on the D&D wiki?

D&D Wiki is infamous for not clearly differentiating between SRD/OGC and Homebrewed stuff. You can usually check at the bottom of the page on "Categories". If there's "User", "Homebrew" or something like that, it's homebrewed; if it has "SRD" or "Open Game Content" it's official Wizards of the Coast material.
This is one of many reasons why it's best to stay the hell away from dandwiki.
