I'm looking for help with a rogue build that uses magic to either enchance itself or for utility purposes.

I'd like to clarify a bit, I want to focus mainily on the sneaking and stabbing aspect of the rogue but I'd like a varity of abilties or spells that help enchance that playstyle, such as buffing myself to do extra damage, turning invisible to more easily sneak up on a target...etc.

How do you feel about something like Swashbuckler 3/Spellthief 2/Beguiler 2/Abjurant Champion 5/Unseen Seer 9?

This guide (http://brilliantgameologists.com/boards/index.php?topic=1240) should have pretty comprehensive information on the subject.

The benchmark build is Rogue (or Spellthief) 1/Wizard 4/Unseen Seer 10/Arcane Trickster 5, using Practiced Spellcaster or Master Spellthief to counteract the caster level penalties from Unseen Seer.

Urpriest is on the money, although if you're not worried about getting 9th-level spells, straight Rogue into the Chameleon prestige class does the trick pretty well.

Spellthief 1/ Psion or Ardent 4/ Psychic Assassin (http://archive.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/psm/20040723d) 6/ Slayer (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/psionic/prestigeClasses/slayer.htm) 9

See if you can remove the evil and special prerequisites from Psychic Assassin in exchange for removing its Death Attack and possibly Poison Use class features. It's mostly there to get Mind Cripple, which can outright disable many opponents with a TWF full attack.

If using Ardent get Substitute Powers (http://archive.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/psm/20070629a), if using Psion go Egoist with Change Shape (http://archive.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/psm/20070314a). Psion has the better power list, but Ardent gets higher level powers from Practiced Manifester.

A single level of Spellthief allows you to use wands of any Wizard spells from the schools it has access to, namely a Wand of Wraithstrike which should go in a wand chamber in one of your weapons. Get Gloves of the Balanced Hand in MIC so you'll get ITWF even before you have its BAB prerequisite.

hmm, I think I like this suggestion the most so far. Care to give me more details on how I'd run a build like this?

One variation on this that I like is
Spellthief or Rogue 1/ Wizard (Spontaneous Divination ACF) 5/ Unseen Seer 10/ Arcane Trickster 4

As for Chameleon I like
Factotum 8/ Warblade 2/ Chameleon 10
Factotum Handbook (http://www.minmaxboards.com/index.php?topic=8685.0) - Basically Rogue++ that can also somewhat cast arcane spells
Chameleon Handbook (http://www.minmaxboards.com/index.php?topic=135) - Gives you both arcane and divine casting options on a skill based chassis

Psychic Rogues (http://archive.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/psm/20040723b) (Handbook (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?234327-3-5-Thinking-on-your-Feet-The-Psychic-Rogue-Handbook)) can make for a decent caster/rogue option.

Ask to play Gestalt, be a rogue // wizard
Works perfectly!

Changeling Rogue 1 / Beguiler 4 / Unseen Seer 10 / Beguiler +5
Use Changeling Rogue to grab Know (Religion) as a class skill and load up with Arcane Disciple picks for more spell options — just make sure you grab the Travel domain.

Straight psychic rogue isn't bad, either.

Chameleon is pretty hard to screw up - straight rogue 5/chameleon 10 will be a fine build.

If you want something a little more complex, rogue 3/cloistered cleric 1/wizard 1/chameleon 10 lets you use Divine Metamagic and Uncanny Forethought alongside your chameleon spells, which is pretty boss. For more of a melee focus, rogue 1/cloistered cleric 1/duskblade 3/chameleon 10 gives you arcane channeling and a superior baseline BAB. But really, with smart spell selection, an out-of-the-box chameleon is a fine prestige class that doesn't need a lot of extra support.

Sorry about the delay in replys, guys. Been a bit busy but i've managed to come up with a (hopefully) decent build, with the help of my drastically more experienced friend, of course.
