What kind of advertising (if any) would this count as?

I have a personal software development project that I hope to someday sell as commercial software. It is currently in an early development stage, and I have no idea when it might even get close to being ready to sell. I am, however, getting somewhat close to a point where I'd like more people to help test it, and possibly even review code.

Would it be permissible to post a thread detailing the project's nature and asking for volunteer beta testers and code reviewers (and serving as a central public discussion place), or would that count as banned commercial advertising because of my future plans for it?

Sheriff: It doesn't seem like you're selling or advertising anything or looking to hire or pay anyone. It sounds like what you do have you're giving away for free. So I don't think the Forum Rules are implicated at all.
