For my school statistics coursework, I would like to test what influence some basic demographics have on your preferred style of play. Therefore, I would be quite happy if you would fill out this questionnaire. Feel free not to answer any question that's too personal, or if you do not want to post it to the forum then a PM is good too.

Note that no personally identifiable information will be stored or included in the results.

Any participant may PM me for the complete results when it is finished ;) For everyone else, I'll briefly describe the results.

Thank you!

[ 55/100]I like a fair mix of both roleplaying and kick-in-the-door gaming, and I'm naturally inclined towards sweeping, epic campaigns (epic in scope, that is). That said, I'm willing to give just about any style of campaign a try.

I'm generally up for anything (barring house rules), but playing a non-combat game with DND or a DND-like system makes no sense to me. It's like trying to perform surgery with a sledgehammer. You can probably find some way to get a positive result with the sledgehammer in some situation, but even in that case you would have been better off using something more suited for the task.

As an addition to the above answers, I'd like to add that I have little patience for low-level campaigns. If there's a promise of mid+ level advancement I'm up for em, but I've no desire to play in L1 - L4 Campaigns that end there. Characters are all limited to the same half a dozen archetypical actions and unless the DM is an exceptional story-teller, I've found such campaigns repetitive and boring. Plus, it seems a partly wasted effort when putting a lot of effort into character development for a PC that never grows beyond a very limited scope.

My favourite game would be a game with memorable and interesting NPCs, an ability to be serious, yet also lighthearted when needed and which included a lot of roleplaying and only combat when it would be a nice break from the regular roleplaying and puzzlesolving.
