Hey playgrounders. A while back I posted a thread asking for build advice for a Savage Technologist (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?368379-PF-Technology-Guide-Savage-Technologist-(Barbarian)-Build-Advice).For those uninterested in trawling, basically a Savage Technologist is a barbarian archetype that gets Dex bonuses instead of Con bonuses, firearm proficiency, an ability to use TWF with a 1-handed weapon and a 1-handed firearm, and Dex to damage with firearms at level 5 while raging. He does not, however, gain Gunsmith, meaning he can't maintain the weapons (which fits with the archetype). Since that thread withered away, I have figured something out.
This guy NEEDS Gunsmithing and Quick Clear, just to function on a level of self-sufficiency. I was talking about in that thread the Pistolero (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/classes/base-classes/gunslinger/archetypes/paizo---gunslinger-archetypes/pistolero), but I recently came across the Musketeer (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/classes/hybrid-classes/swashbuckler/archetypes/paizo---swashbuckler-archetypes/musketeer) archetype for the new Swashbuckler, which came across as a slightly better deal. However, I'm still having misgivings, particularly the Panache pool's inability to fill unless he uses a rapier. Which... no. It's possible with Slashing Grace, but kind of takes the wind out of playing a Barbarian, in addition to the build being starved for feats already.
Any suggestions?
