So this is a question that many player in my group, including my self; can't really answer. Why is the sending spell in the evocation school? it just doesn't seem right. Anybody willing to elaborate?

From the core rulebook

Evocation spells manipulate magical energy or tap an unseen source of power to produce a desired end. In effect, an evocation draws upon magic to create something out of nothing. Many of these spells produce spectacular effects, and evocation spells can deal large amounts of damage.

Sending allows you to send a message of 25 words or less across any distance. It fits into the evocation school because you are manipulating some unseen force to throw your voice which manifests anywhere you desire, even through planar boundaries. You are also creating something out of nothing (a voice without a body). You could say that it would fit into illusion for this reason alone but you have to understand that illusion spells, in general, have a very short range and require concentration to manifest while sending requires little to no effort from the caster.

That does make sense. Thank you for explaining.
