I'm involved in a game where the DM is using many pixies. These pixies love their special arrows especially the memory wipe ones.

My question is this: Would the spell Protection from Arrows (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/spells/protectionFromArrows.htm) prevent the pixies' Sleep or Memory Loss arrows from effecting a creature?

The subject gains damage reduction 10/magic against ranged weapons.
Special Arrows (Ex)

Pixies sometimes employ arrows that deal no damage but can erase memory or put a creature to sleep.
Memory Loss

An opponent struck by this arrow must succeed on a DC 15 Will save or lose all memory.
Whenever damage reduction completely negates the damage from an attack, it also negates most special effects that accompany the attack, such as injury type poison, a monk’s stunning, and injury type disease. Damage reduction does not negate touch attacks, energy damage dealt along with an attack, or energy drains. Nor does it affect poisons or diseases delivered by inhalation, ingestion, or contact. So yes, with any sort of DR which stops the (nonexistent) damage from the arrows, the special effects of the arrows are negated. Special Arrows are Extraordinary, therefore they don't bypass DR 10/magic.
