I see a bunch of these campaign logs popping up. They seem cool, but they're really long and its hard to sift through them all. I was hoping I could get some suggestions to save me some time. So what are your favorites?

Seconding SilverClawShift's campaigns if you want to read about an excellent group of players playing DnD. You can also learn a lot about good DMing from those, as SilverClawShift's DM deserves awards.

If you want to read about Mutants and Masterminds and about another crazy awesome group of players then http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?322592-quot-Let-s-get-this-straight-YOU-RE-the-sidekick!-quot-A-Mutants-amp-Masterminds-Camp-Journal. There is even some sexy fan art of the characters. :smalltongue:

I second the recommendation of SilverClawShift's journals. I would also like to draw attention to Saphs excellent journals: Red Hand of Doom (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?94243-Campaign-Journal-The-Red-Hand-of-Doom!) and Seven Kingdoms (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?139572-Campaign-Journal-Seven-Kingdoms)

Shemeska's Planescape Storyhour (http://www.enworld.org/forum/showthread.php?77613-Shemeska-s-Planescape-Storyhour-(Updated-29-Jan-2014))

followed by

Tales of Wyre (http://www.enworld.org/forum/showthread.php?58227-Tales-of-Wyre)

Kaveman 26 on this forum also has some quite marvelous campaign logs, great comedy, fun to read. His Big One (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=247997) is great, you'll find links to other's in his sig.

I've not read Silverclawshifts', but I recommend Phoenixguard's "Gilded Sword" campaign log. It has hilarious quotes and commentary.

Tales of Wyre (http://www.enworld.org/forum/showthread.php?58227-Tales-of-Wyre)

Forget "favorite campaign log," Tales of Wyre is the single best piece of fantasy fiction I've ever read.

I've not read Silverclawshifts'

I highly recommend you do so and follow up with Saph's 'Seven Kingdom's' journal.

SilverClawShift definitely. I'm also a fan of Sagiro's (http://stevenac.net/sagiro/StoryHour.htm) which finished recently. And of course my own, Xorian Wars!

Indeed, wish the early levels were available to read.

Anything written by kaveman26. He has like 4 or 5 of em, they're absolutely amazing. My favorite would be The Big One (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?247997-The-Big-One-Campagin-Log)

Warm fuzzy feelings from seeing our game up.... :D

Seconding SilverClawShift and adding Shadow of the Sun over on RPG.net.

There's a link and you are most welcome. If you like Warhammer, and hell, even if you don't really, it's amazing.

As a related topic, is there a way to get decent feedback on one's own campaign logs? I posted links to mine in a thread some time ago, but no one seemed interested enough to comment.

Maybe a fan fic website would be better suited for receiving feedback?

I was more interested in feedback from DMs about the style of game mastering, though.

This is exactly my situation. I had a stray comment or two, but not much more. Never could tell if people were actually reading, or just glanced at the stacks o' text and moved on.

Somewhat disheartening, given the effort. But so it goes.

One of my favorites, which hasn't been mentioned yet, is the freewheeling and hilarious Swordsage's Journal (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?169149-A-Swordsage-s-Journal-The-Gladiator-Arena). The campaign has evidently been suspended, which is a shame, but there's plenty of story posted and it's well worth the read.

And, apart from the pure entertainment value--which is substantial--it's also a great example of a very run-with-it DMing style.

Also, while rummaging for the link, I found a Reddit post from about a month ago by the author, mentioning he has another campaign journal in the works. If this is true, then we may have another madcap read from Dralnu on the way.

I highly doubt it.

The problem is that different people like different things. The best people to get feedback from are your players. They're the ones you'll be designing future adventures for so their opinion should matter most to you.

I have to agree that critiquing style is tricky but for the sake of it, did you specify in the title of your post that you were looking for dm feedback? Might be a bit of an advertising issue.

There used to be a really good series of videos of Mark Rhein-Hagen (one of the original Vampire the Masquerade writers) playing a Sabbat Warriors chronicle but they got taken down for some reason.
It featured a Malkavian on cocaine, an overzelaous preacher from the southern united states played by an Englishman, a brujah piledriving people, a diablerized Tzimisce trying to emancipate himself from the neonate who drank him by reshaping his body while the neonate slept and my personal favorite GM call ever: "I was gonna make you roll for that, but I like that description so much I'm just gonna allow it."
