Hey folks! A small warning- the rest of this post contain some spoilers for the PF module Sword of Valor, from the Wrath of The Righteous adventure path.

Still with me? Good! I'm looking for some cool music for a special battle- The first Mythic Challenge the party faces- a battle with an advanced mythic demonic chimera. Or, for short- "The Beast of Drezen". If this matters, this takesplace in the middle of a siege, with the beast being sort of the champion for a besieged demon's army.

It is highly dangerous (A TPK is reasonably likely. Mythic challenges should be so!), fiersome, savage and immensely brutal.

I am aiming for a combination of the following: Epic/ Mythic in theme, Inspiring tension and danger, but also a feeling of heroism. And fast paced- this is battle music after all!

I've initially been thinking of using various tracks from Two Steps from Hell, but I was wondering what the rest of you might suggest.

Some sample tracks:
United we stand, divided we fall (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jbtX06ZZ1t8) (My "go to" choice, but I've used it quite a bit, would prefer something new)
Archangel (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NaJ3WtWOQTw) (Same deal, and not dangerous enough)
To Glory (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d2hRTLdvdnk) (Not quite dangerous enough)
Various tracks from All Drums go to Hell (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bXzgWzCdDh8&list=PL673D752F61595A03) (Excellent for tension and danger. Less for heroics)

Your ideas, pretty please?! :smallwink:

My DM favor's God of War video game music if that helps expand your search. Sadly I don't know any others though.

I love using music, so I may have a few suggestions. I also steal shamelessly from the "greatest battle music ever" playlists too.

Pounding beat, ominous choir, all around dramatic...I think this would fit your categories :)

May be a little slower paced and not super heroic, but still pretty cool

Or you could go with the classics, like Dies Irae:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZDFFHaz9GsY or O Fortuna: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AdIpoE2LEps

This is another one I like: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_S-UpM7dbcg

Let me know if I should keep firing these off

Bravely Default has absolutely incredible music for this sort of thing.

That Persons' name is... (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sk-9ihcy2R8) (With vocals) (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7iJ_cvuEiDk)

The Snake that Devours the Horizon (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eoe9K1McHDI)

Some other stuff I've run into works well too.
Only a plank between one and perdition, guitar cover (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Sf1wif2mxI)

Land Crasher! (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=txTdH1iX00g)

Gothic Neclord (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5BLZE8lqdvA)

The Battle of your Soul (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yy0jmabqwj4)

And personally, I find it impossible not to get pumped up for a fight when you Sound the GONG! (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O0TiqIjF-uk)

I've been using songs from the Attack on Titan soundtrack for the mythic moments in my WoTR campaign. They work really well!!

Hey all! I apologize for the late response. Real life has been... quite hectic of late, and I didn't have the time to listen properly. I did now however. Thanks all for replying!

This is actually quite good! In our ages most of the groups doesn't have time for any games, and I haven't heard it metnioend so it won't be immediately noticed. And the music is... awesome!

Plus, I think quite a few of the tracks could do well for the Siege of Drezen "general theme music" as well! So thanks! this was a first impression, I didn't allocate specific tracks yet, though I think I'll lean towards some of the mixes I've heard. They give a good change of pace.

Hmmmm... good music, but not what I'm looking for. Not quite fast paced, and the interludes with the choir are too often. I'd prefer to avoid that. It feels like some other voice in the battle, which is not my intention.

Not fitting for the fast based battle I have in mind, but... it makes for an EXCELLENT preparatory/ tension building music. THe party is leading an army to a complicated siege. This could do well for them just entering the immediate depressive and war torn surroundings of the siege, or when the army prepares for the final assault on the fort... sort of "the atmosphere in the night before the battle". It has enough dark moments, and hopeful moments, and enough variation to prove just great for that. And it is quite moving. Thanks a lot!

Or you could go with the classics, like Dies Irae:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZDFFHaz9GsY or O Fortuna: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AdIpoE2LEps Heh. :smallamused: I would like those in a game, but they could prove too distracting due to their familiarity. Plus, most of our folks are not classical fans. Still, I'd love to put O Fortuna somewhere, just not now.

Let me know if I should keep firing these off  Again too much Choir. Probably not.

That Persons' name is... (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sk-9ihcy2R8)(With vocals) (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7iJ_cvuEiDk)
While it is quite fast paced, and feels great for an action/ battle scene, I don't feel the danger, or the epic/ heroic quality. Also, I prefer no vocals. They distract people.

The Snake that Devours the Horizon (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eoe9K1McHDI) I mentioned this with previous poster- I prefer no choir. Though the music is quite cool! :smallwink:

Gothic Neclord (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5BLZE8lqdvA)

The Battle of your Soul (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yy0jmabqwj4) Again, these 3 are good for "general" battle music, but work less for what I have in mind. They lack the danger sense, and except for the last one, some sense of heroism and facing something epic. Sorry

It's too slow paced for the battle I have in mind. I think it would be great for "A shocking revelation" kind of scene, but not for what I plan.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xl2-60edxNk The sound would fit a more futurisitc campaign I think. A bit to techno for the feel we're trying to invoke. And again, too slow.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U5HBuZCc3us This one is quite good! I like the voices saying/ shouting int the background. They give a feel of other people around, which may fit the battle I'm doing. I'll have to use it, but not yet fully sure if it's in this battle or others. Lets see...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k0Jtbaioxxg
I like this track as well! Though I think it fits less the type of battle I have in mind. It seems to keep a low vibe tension, with upscales of heroic feel to it at times. Not sure when I'll use it, but perhaps on strategic small teams efforts? Not sure... But I'll definitely use it!

Thank you all for all of the great suggestions, and again- I apologize for the late response. Soem good stuff out there. Thanks!
