The sun crests over the horizon. It is another absolutely beautiful day on Marorbis, the ocean looks as smooth as glass, the darting flashes of large schools of fish can be seen through the crystal waters, and a raunchy sea shanty can be heard on the wind. The Crimson Talon is at full sail and moving with the wind in a north easterly direction, the slave rowers have their oars up and are permitted a rare break. Several crew members move about the deck keeping their eyes on the sails and horizon. The Captain is near the steering oars, which are manned by a pair of burly men who look like they have more than a little monstrous blood. Near the prow of the ship a massive Sahuagin stands, muttering to himself in a bubbly tongue and weaving things out of seaweed with his hands.

A few minutes later a squadron of fins breaks the surface to the north east and heads straight for the ship, upon closing a fifteen foot shark leaps out of the water and makes a series of noises. The Sahuagin throws the seaweed away and strides towards the captain, dwarfing the smallish man physically. "Captain." It says in a raspy voice. "The sharks have seen preys. Two, together, moving north." The captain looks up at the Sahuagin. "Good work. Figgis! Rouse the men, tell the mutilated one to get the slaves rowing. Serath, keep those sharks near them and keep track of the things. Doz, Thoz, change of course, due north." A weathered looking human responds with an "Aye aye" before moving below decks and the two steering men grunt and point the ship north. The Sahuagin nods his assent, picks up a rope and dives into the ocean, several bubbles surface and a light flashes before he climbs back aboard.

A long serving crewmember known as Figgis clambers down to the sleeping chambers and starts yelling and shoving people out of the hammocks. "Captain says to rouse yer lazy asses, we gots some prey!" He then heads further belowdecks. A few hushed words can be heard before a whip is cracked and the oars start at a frenzied pace. Emerging back in the sleeping quarters he rouses the last of the sleeping crew and heads back to the deck.

The deck is in a frenzy of activity, the on duty crew adjusting the sails to get more speed and the off duty crew rushing above decks to gather near the captain. He waits for the entirety of the crew to gather around him before speaking. "Serath's sharks have seen two ships. We are following now, form your boarding squads." He points at two squads including yours. "You two will take the smaller ship, we will come alongside and you will board quickly. Harrison is in command." A half orc grunts in acknowledgement. "The rest will take the larger vessel, make your preparations and pray to whatever you believe in."

As the crew take their positions Harrison gestures the two squads together. "Alright, my boys will hold the stairwells and keep more from coming up. You kill everyone on deck. Agreed?"

After spending the night on deck, Dom had looked forward to hiding away in the lower decks for the day. Unfortunately, with the crew's new quarry, it was likely he'd once again be up for the entirety of the day. He hadn't fed since the night he joined the crew and over the last few days had begun to grow ever more on edge. He gains a twisted grin as Harrison explains the plan, despite his mind reeling at the though of having to drink living blood again. "Don't quite like the challenge of facing an opponent outside a bottleneck, do you?" he asks, nodding towards Harrison (who I assume is the half orc mentioned)

Whitlock stood on deck, grinning under his cowl. Most times when a mark was spotted, he was called upon to perform some stealthy act of sabotage. This would be the first time in weeks that he got to participate in a straight fight. A straight fight, but not a fair one at all, he'd make sure of it.

Zyphon

Zyphon relishes in the excitement on the deck when the orders come down to him through the half-orc Harrison. He listens to the plan and nods happily, "No problem! Shouldn't be anything we can't handle on that deck, what'dya say there mates?" Zyphon says energetically while he pulls out his multitude of weapons to ensure they are all loaded and prepared for the slaughter to come.

Bracul Umbelli quietly prepared his weapons and armor for the coming engagement. He decided to only load normal shot, fire could be deadly with so few of their crew at hand to battle it. While loading his dragonpistol, he spoke clearly for both the squads to hear.
"Stay near me just before we join battle, that I might bless you in the name of my god."

-Shyra looks down at her feet, the Massive woman shifted from one draconic foot to the other, digging her claws into the wood, one might think she was scared if it wasn't for the glimpse of a massive grin touching her lips, barely visible with her long hair covering her face. She almost shook in excitement at the thought of killing, of maiming, and destroying so many others. She could feel that giddiness and excitement stirring within and she was like a cork about to pop, wanting to ravage this enemy-

Bracul noticed the nearby half-dragon visibly shaking and opened his mouth to speak on the nature of first combat. Halfway through the first word, however, he noticed the inane gleam in her eyes and the sharp-toothed grin she wore and thought better of it. This one wasn't likely to have only experienced a few combats. Instead he made a mental note not to get between her and her blood-rage.

The tiny sea-green fey stood near the ship's rail, looking into the deep water. Below him, the brief flash of a tentacle signified Uafas' presence, ready to join the fray if its master called upon it. Giblan looks back over his shoulder at Harrison, a slightly unfocused grin on his face. "Tell me, mister Harrison. Do you have nightmares, ever?"

Harrison looks at the little fey. "That's what Rum is for little fairy."

Sareth moves to the fore of the ship and slowly casts a spell, as soon as it is completed a dense fog surrounds the vessel. Sareth then moves to the steering oars and guides the vessel towards its prey.

As the Crimson Talon pulls alongside the smaller vessel there are only a few crewmembers on deck, Harrison gives a hand signal and his men rush across. Harrison pauses briefly to slit a sentries throat before taking his position. Half a dozen sentries, two steersman, and an officer are all who remain on deck, unfortunately they've seen Harrison and his group, and have raised the alarm.

Before the boat had even pulled up alongside, Whitlock had flown up silently around the side of the ship. Pop up over the rail and blast the one in charge on deck, that was his plan. It would be nice to catch his burly guards in the spray, but the leader was the priority.

Using Persistent Color Spray on fancy-hat. He will try to catch one or both bodyguards in the spray, but if he can only hit the leader he will settle for that. Awesome Display revelation means the target is treated as 2 HD or less (unless he has 14 or more HD, in which case we just walked onto the wrong ship).

Giblan giggles at Harrison's response. "Well then Mister Harrison, you're going to need a lot of rum!" As the Crimson Talon pulls up alongside the target, Uafas slowly climbs up to meet with its master. The translucent, tentacled horror lets out a screech as battle is joined, and Giblan giggles, his crossbow at the ready.

Not sure if Eidolons are supposed to act on their summoner's turn, but I'll roll just in case.

Giblan darts forward, and unleashes a surge of mental horror, impressing upon the enemy crew just how terrifying their fates would be. As the fey performs his work, Uafas charges out of the mist, ripping into one of the crew members. The two were a deadly team

Giblan moves into optimal position, and unleashes a 3 Point Demoralize. Enemies within 35 feet of him must succeed on a DC 25 Will Save or be Shaken for 5 minutes.

If Uafas is within 30 feet of any creature which is Shaken, Frightened, or Panicked, it gains an extra Evolution Point, which is spent on Improved Damage: Tentacles. It makes a charge attack against the nearest enemy with its tentacle, which has a reach of 10 feet. Because of its Scent of Fear feat, Uafas gains +2 to hit against Shaken or Frightened foes. It also knows which foes are suffering a Fear effect, and so will target those in preference to others.

Dominic is the first off the boat and swiftly jabs the nearest crewman, taking him deeply in the shoulder and causing the crewman's arm to drop dead. The crewman falls to his knees and pleads "please don't kill me!" Whilst clutching at his arm that leaks blood at an alarming rate.

Whitlock meanwhile, has drifted around and lets loose a vibrant display from his fingertips, that causes the first mate and one of the steersman to drop to the ground motionless.

The crew responds quickly, the five remaining crewmembers loose a volley of pistol fire at the man who dropped their officer before drawing their dueling swords. All the bullets however, pass harmlessly through the flying pirate causing everyone on the enemy crew, and a couple of Harrison's men to do a double take. The remaining steersman grabs a javelin, starts screaming, and hurls it at the Ghost, mid flight the javelin transforms into a lighting bolt.

[roll0] Divided by half, because Ghost, reflex 14 to cut it down to a Quarter.

Giblan manages to terrify all 6 of the crewmen, the one who surrendered collapses into a mewling ball and the remaining five are all shaken. Uafas comes up from behind one and smacks him upside his head.

Zyphon's musket lets out a flash and large amount of smoke but it fires true, striking the remaining steersman in the leg.

Bracul's Dragon pistol adds even more smoke to the growing cloud, spraying it's cloud of pellets over both the unconscious and standing steersman.

Shyra's extremely impressive leap ends with an equally impressive strike. Cleaving her greatsword down on the unfortunate crewman the strike connects at the shoulder and is stopped only by the pelvis. By that point however she has already begun moving past the corpse. ending her movement on the middle of the ship as the crewmans body hits the deck.

Harrison's team stands around the hatch to belowdecks, keeping the remaining crew back with shot and boarding pikes.

Whitlock laughed at the crew's efforts to shoot him, the bullets passing harmlessly through his clothing. His gloating backfired somewhat, as he did not even try to dodge the javelin that turned into a bolt of lightning mid-flight. But after the jolt hit him and the feeling passed, he laughed all the harder; a terrible echoing sound. For the first time since leaving the Talon, he spoke up: "Are we taking prisoners? I'm afraid I've forgotten!" As he spoke he drew his rapier, a wispy sliver of grey smoke in his gloved hand, and made to run it through the last crewman standing.

Whitlock's feint with the rapier succeeds, his touch, the real threat strikes the steersman and causes him to suddenly seize up and collapse.

Id like the belt of Dex for obvious reasons, the Masterwork Musket, some of the bullets, and the anchor feather token.

Harrison looks at Dominic. "You know how to get one of these things moving? Cause I sure as hell don't. That's what the slaves are for. We wait for the Cap'n to finish up with the other boat and come back."

"As a matter of fact, I do know how to get this craft underway. We will need the manpower to do so. The ship's captain should be more than willing to do what I ask and I feel that one or two of the others may be able to assemble a skeleton crew of sorts." He says, shooting Bracul a telling glare when he says "skeleton"; he then turns back to Harrison. "I would think our captain would appreciate a little initiative in his men."

"Aye, I second that opinion, and I can sail this wreck as well," Bracul sniffed while affixing the headband around. He traded shields, put on the ring, and then went to work in the rigging.
"Down to hell and back up through the Drow kingdoms if need be," he muttered to himself.
